Best software ever

I have been using Turbo tax for last 12 years. I had switched to other software for a year, but did not have as good experience as Turbo tax. Since then, this is what I have stuck to. Very easy to use, easy to navigate. They understand customer comfort (with features like getting information from previous return, downloading information from other financial institution).

Unusually bad this year

Used TT since it came out. This year was really bad and required going back and readjusting misplaced numbers. Really screwed up the complicated Iowa return and I had to review all the non-resident Iowa forms online to see where the mistakes were made. Really disappointed.
What's great about it: Don't have to mail returns
What's not so great: Did not pick up past depreciation and screwed up state filing.

Where's the ball

First thing that bothered me was no visible display that show when TurboTax was thinking / processing so I found myself hitting the buttons several times. The wording was confusing on several question. For example the first word would be yes or no the a 2 or 3 word negative statement. Mostly I didn't like the hard sale on getting the state program as I live in Florida and its not needed. which I am sure the program and you know.
What's great about it: I got a big refund!
What's not so great: Wording is harder to understand. No thinking / processing display

Overall good. Confusing at end when multiple times printing of return was offered.

There should be a flag if you entered sales tax last year and missed including it this year.
On rental income last year I entered that the rental period was for 366 days but the program carried the business use of 9 % for the previous year and I missed it. So it seems like a flag here would help.

I have used TurboTax quite a few years in a row. I found it to be even easier this year than last year.
What's great about it: Accuracy and Explanations
What's not so great: No Cons
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
