Easier than I thought !

I was very nervous about doing this but the prices they were charging were beginning to be unaffordable. So I took the challenge and tonight my husband and I sat down and got our taxes done. It was very user friendly for even the non computer person. Although I must say it did take some time to really read the questions and make sure that we were using the right place to add our info. I liked that there was a help section where we could go and get answers which we needed to do two or three times. It was a step by step process which was very easy to follow . Only problem was wish we had done this earlier !!
What's great about it: I really liked that it took you step by step and that you could go back and make changes when needed.
What's not so great: some of the things we needed to add like being a VFD and having LOSAP points. no one really knew the answer to that.

I continue to use Turbo Tax every year as I trust it (having also done my taxes manually to compare notes in the beginning). They are always right on.
What's great about it: Quick and user friendly, new business expenses well explained
What's not so great: None

Community Property rules

Vague and confusing. One place Turbo Tax says you must use Community Property rules and later it asks if you have any Community Property to declare. Explanation just isn't clear and I'm still not clear if we did our taxes correctly. Once you've gone past a question, we couldn't find a way to go back into the return and find it without starting the return all over.

Much Happier this year with Turbo Tax

Pretty much summed up this years version. Not their fault, but unbelievable to have 50 review pages for relatively simple filing. Again California e-file charging so much for something that saves them money and time. Love this state, but $$$$ really drives most aspects.
Been TT user for many years, all in all, this is one of the better years to work with their software.
Job well done to TT staff and "cubicle" coders.
What's great about it: Much simpler to use, easier to fix on reviews.
What's not so great: Lousy California e-file fee's.
