Great Tax Software

This software is detailed and simple walking you through every possible seniro and finding all your deductions. Several years ago I used a professional tax preparer and all they did was ask me the same questions that Turbo Tax does and charge 5 times as much!
What's great about it: Understandable, detailed simple instructions

can't find a any contact phone numbers; I was locked out of my account preventing e-filing - no where was help to be found to reset password!
What's great about it: walking through ez filing questions
What's not so great: trying to get help or assistance for a person is impossible

Taxes Done Right

I started my taxes with TurboTax, as I've done for the past several years, I got my taxes for federal & 3 states done in under 2 hours.
What's great about it: Quick & easy to file my taxes
What's not so great: Being charged for the multiple state returns

Not able to file E-file

Could not find PIN.I called IRS got new numbers but Program would not take Pin. So I had to print forms and mail them. Since I was getting a return it will take longer. I had already paid to file my State Forms and would like a refund.
What's great about it: Easy to use, Inatruction clear easy to use
What's not so great: Was unable to e- file because of change in PIN

I'm not a stupid person, but...

Every year my husband and I purchase Turbo Tax because it's supposed to be easy and quick. It seems like every year we encounter some kind of frustrating problem. This year we had trouble filing our federal return because we couldn't connect to Turbo Tax's update web site. While this was frustrating and led to some colorful language, we eventually called the Turbo Tax support center and requested a call back. The rep called us back within a half an hour (on a Sunday, no less# and was able to walk us through a fix for it over the phone. We were quite pleased with the support we received. One thing to note, though, is that at no point either on the web site or on the phone recording did it state the hours that Turbo Tax customer service reps are available. Since it was a Sunday, we weren't sure if we would get a call back that day or not.
We did get sweet federal and state refunds, and figuring out what to enter where was easy. However, another source of frustration is with our state return. Starting last year, our state decided to give us the option of receiving our refund by mail on a debit card or having it direct deposited. We used to request a check by mail #long story), but we did not want the debit card. Turbo Tax defaulted to selecting the debit card for us, and no matter how hard we have searched the software, we cannot find a way to deselect that and select direct deposit. Instead we end up printing out our return, whiting out the debit card option, and handwriting in our bank info. This seems like an area that Turbo Tax should be able to fix and simplify for its customers.
Overall, we like Turbo Tax. As I mentioned, we use it every year, and the actual tax prep part is easy. Even with all of our frustrations, we will continue to buy it.
What's great about it: captured my info from last year; when I had a question, customer service called me back promptly; got a fat refund
What's not so great: not given an option to change my state refund from debit card to direct deposit; problems updating forms
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax is the best choice for everybody. Is the first year when I gave a try and I am not disappointed. Last year I paid a lot to a CPA for my taxes and she made some mistakes... Now, I will stick with my Turbo Tax. Thank you!
What's great about it: You can return any time to review and make changes in your work.
What's not so great: None.

Everything was good except for the end I wasn't sure if I had double filed my returns - and had paid twice.
What's great about it: Easy to use - little or no jargon
What's not so great: wasnt sure when I had actually filed my returns worried about double payments

Disappearing Check Boxes

On some panels, while re-reviewing the return, the "None of the Above Check Box" disappears, or are you just forcing the user to re-enter... recommit?
