Disappointed with the stae return process

Intuit chagrded me for e-filing my state return just to get a note back that it was not acceptable because of schedule sc, which is not eligible for e-filing.
This should have been one of th checks that the software should have known and checked before charging me and attempting the e-file!
What's not so great: Intuit chraged me for e-filing my state return which was not acceptable to MA!

Quick Tax Prep

Overall I am very pleased with the Turbo Tax product, I have used it for several years, and plan to continue to do so.
What's great about it: Great Speed in completing information, easy to use.
What's not so great: Didnt want to recognize names for fee to be held from refund even though I had them exactly as they are on the returns

Fine until it refused to email

Pretty simple to use if you've done taxes before, relatively simple even for my daughter who managed her own return with only occasional coaching from me. Most people with some financial skills can get through it, most without might need a hand the first time or two.
The Mac version had a bug preventing e-file "until updates are applied" but updates were applied repeatedly and it still refused to e-file, said "updates needed" even after they were applied.
Finally just deleted the program (but not my tax data file!!) from Applications, reinstalled, updated and it finally went through. Very annoying especially since we'd already paid for the e-filing.
What's great about it: Pretty simple if you know tax jargon
What's not so great: Failed repeatedly to e-file due to update bugs
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Superficially an easy program to use but really it is dated and inflexible and the cost of filing state taxes is too much
What's great about it: Easy interface
What's not so great: SLOW, inflexible, expensive state return

FOund a bug!

There is a bug - - when I put this to full screen with a wide screen, the cursor did not go to the box; if I reduced it to partial screen - the data was there and I could type!
What's great about it: Thorough
What's not so great: Awkward to skip around and review; no easy way to find extension!

This program has the best of the best. It's ability to answer questions properly and quick. One the best features is its step by step instructions. Helps doing the review and the ability to e-file. Many thanks for your amazing program.

What's not so great: Doesn't cover Royalties on books
