Intuitive Software

TurboTax gets easier every year. I have been using it for years, and it really does improve. It handles most situations, has help built in, plus easy access to IRS publications and guidance.
What's great about it: Intuitive, complete, easy!
What's not so great: Waited until I hit "SEND" before saying "There are updates..."

The ease of use, you just input the information from your W2 and Turbo Tax does the rest from asking you questions and completing and calculation of the forms
What's great about it: Turbo Tax did all the calculations
What's not so great: none I can think of

2014 Taxes

Was very easy to do my return. It took me less than 2 hours to file and complete. It stepped me through the process and audited everything I entered.

I've been using TurboTax since 2005 and find it a reliable and easy way to identify all legal deductions while handling the ever confusing tax code in the background. The current interview approach is a great way to start your first return and get all the initial info updated or added. Then, later, as you just want to tweak a few numbers that say were originally estimated, you can go directly to that section. The combination of hand holding and efficiency is excellent.
What's great about it: Comprehensive and easy to use
What's not so great: Constant updates
