Great app for Fed and State Taxes

I have used TurboTax for our returns for the past 6 years. Each year it gets better, more refined and easier to use. Being able to go back over each section in more detail as well as both the on-line and linked IRS documents make it better than ever. Upon occasion, while working thru some of the "can I deduct this", the language gets more legal and less understandable - especially in some of the investment expense areas. Overall, it is a great program for getting your taxes done cleanly, it is well organized, and without any non-explained areas.
What's great about it: Easy to use; intuitive questions; great lookups
What's not so great: language can be more legal than understandable
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

(Mostly) rock solid

Turbo Tax is pretty much a rock solid product. I've only had issues in the last 2 years. This year the state refund amount it pulled in was incorrect, and was different from what was listed on the printed Turbo tax record and on the record from the state. It took me a while to figure out how it wanted me to correct it.
Last year the state gave less room than the federal return for a job title, and produced an error on the final review. I couldn't figure out how to correct it, and it wouldn't let me use the state efile, although I paid for it.
There are a few (very few) things that aren't intuitive, mostly when you want to correct something on a form when they review at the end. It will show you the form and what it doesn't like, but you don't always see an easy way to get to that form and correct it.

Best ever

I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't use TurboTax. I feel completely confident that my tax return is accurate and that I got the maximum refund. The step-by-step process is effortless, and the format follows the formats of the various documents so it's easy to know where to put your information. Couldn't be better!
What's great about it: Fast, easy, crystal clear
What's not so great: nothing

Complicated

Turbo Tax seems to be getting more complicated each year.
Tax year 2013 was extremely difficult.
This year certain information that you should have stored from
my return last year was not retrievable for this year. I had to manually look for it. This happened numerous times.

Please make your help selections more understandable as well.
You really need to make turbo tax way way more helpful and easier to use.

Straightforward yet magical

This was my most complicated tax year with sale of home and some stock splits and sales. The home sale proved not difficult. The stock transactions were smoothly dealt with by info from my broker to TurboTax. I wasn't sure all necessary info was being transferred while working through TurboTax entries but all showed on printed forms.
What's great about it: Does what it is supposed to do
What's not so great: Only complaint is having to pay for efiling state return

Gets bettter every year

This program just gets more intuitive every year. Updates keep your return trouble free. The questions used to complete the forms are simple. Help info is just a click away. This program allows to you run different senarios to find your best return rate.
What's great about it: Updates, easy of use, ability to run numbers

Easy Filing

I've used TurboTax for over a decade, and I find it very reliable. Better yet, when you purchase the Audit Insurance, it really simplifies disputes. I have never had to deal with the IRS directly as a result, and all infrequent issues have been resolved satifactorily.
What's great about it: Quick without interview
What's not so great: Interview portion can be tedious

Wished live support was a little easier to find and connect to. Seemed like the buttons were buried a bit. But,once we got there, the reps were helpful and very friendly.
