I have done taxes for my elderly parents every year for the past several years, always using TurboTax. Last year was the year they finally went to live in assisted living and they sold their modular home. Their only income was from the sale of that house (which wasn't much) and Social Security. It never occured to me that they might not need to file taxes! I got through the entire process, only to find that I couldn't efile! Then I had to do the research to find out why. Turns out I didn't have to go through any of this! Oh well, I'll know better next year!
What's great about it: TurboTax walked me through each step!
What's not so great: I got through the entire program before I realized that I didn't need to file!

Rest Assured

Turbo Tax has never let me make an error since 2002. I rest assured, upon being reviewed, the message says "no errors." Matter of fact, I try to see how fewer errors I can have each year.. In 2002 I had 11 errors but this year, upon review, Turbo Tax said "no errors." What a happy day! That's when you can "rest assured" your E-file tax returns (federal and state) will be accepted quickly and refunds deposited faster.
What's great about it: Turbo Tax has been my "Easy Guide" since 2002. Why? I can rest assured my federal and state returns show "no errors."
Pros: I bought or sold investments

What's great about it: EASY TO USE
What's not so great: HAVE FOUND NONE!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

The Questions that were asked were spot on and the answers clear and concise. The whole process was very short and I loved how it flowed. The audit protection help was good all so. I got audited last year and I called them once and the handled it well. Thank you Turbo Tax.
What's great about it: It asked all the right questions and turned me in the right direction.
What's not so great: We also had to pay to file the state return it was not free.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

While TurboTax tries to provide everything for every situation, my biggest frustration is for things that are outside the box. For example, I could not for the life of me figure out how to enter donated items that were not on your handy little list.... while it's nice that you have the option of pre-selected items, when you have things (and I had many this year) that are NOT on the list, there appears to be no way to enter it. I also wish some of the options were combined to cut down on the number of responses.
What's great about it: I like the step by step approach
What's not so great: some frustrations

This really was easy!! I was scared & skeptical to file on my own for the first time! I'm going to use Turbotax from here on out!
What's great about it: very easy to do!!! Found credits/deductions I never knew about!

the uploading of investment packages is not straight forward requiring multiple attempts and frustration.
