Turbo Tax Makes Tax Time Easy!

Disappointed in TurboTax this year

Very disappointed this year. I have used TurboTax the past several years and this will be my last. It wouldn't pull up my previous filings and wouldn't find my EIN or my spouse's EIN. Not a very intuitive tool this year.
What's great about it: Not much
What's not so great: Couldn't connect to previous returns or EIN's

Just as good as paying a Professional.

Definitely saved money from paying a professional. But I wished they had like a live chat to ask certain questions as some steps were not quite self explanatory.
What's great about it: Walked you thru steps.
What's not so great: Some of the steps need further explanation, and could not find.

Mostly Smooth Sailing

Overall streamlined but had difficulty knowing what data goes in certain sections. Had to go through a couple sections multiple times to be sure info was correctly inserted.
What's great about it: used info from last year to speed up process, well organized
What's not so great: sections not always clear

Fast, Easy and complete

Have been using turbo tax for many years and feel its the best in the business. Easy, simple and complete. I have one more comment- after trying to submit this review. its extremely frustrating to have to try 5-10 times to submit this due to "already selected nicknames". This needs to be corrected.
What's great about it: simple step by step procedures even on complicated issues like min tax
What's not so great: the e-file option for state is set up to automatically agree rather than left for the option of the filer. Mistake prone

Missing a refund!

Not always transparent where the link is to the forms and when there is a mistake, it is hard to go back to it. Can you show the forms on the side or something so that it is easier to track what you've done wrong?
We both work for someone else and have maxed out our deductions. Yet every year we pay a big amount - complete with a penalty for failing to pay it earlier! Last year my wife increased her deductions so we could break even. We still paid a big amount this time! TurboTax used to have a help section that gave you suggestions for the next year. What happened to that?

What's great about it: Ease of completion with importing options! Loved not having to do that data entry directly!
What's not so great: Need better transparency & help planning for future.

I love TurboTax because it gives me the power to not only do my own taxes but to understand the implications of financial decisions I make throughout the year.
I have the ability to research tax topics and possible deductions with as much detail as I want.

Filing Taxes As Painless As Possible

I've used TurboTax for years and find it very easy to use. It's guides you smoothly through each part of the tax return and provides helpful information when necessary. I highly recommend TurboTax!
What's great about it: Easy use/navigate, good explanations
