Takes the guess work out...

I LOVE Turbo Tax! The detailed walk thru covers anything and everything one would never think of when preparing their taxes. I've used Turbo Tax for years and will purchase year after year. There is nothing better on the market!
What's great about it: Detailed Walk Thru
What's not so great: Can't think of anything...
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I'm glad it didn't ask data input for charity addresses, etc. this year, which are unnecessary for filing returns, but it did require some repetitious entry. example: When entering 1099-R's, I had to re-enter (7 times!) the same company name, address, tax id#, etc. for multiple 1099's from the same company. The program should recognize that your doing multiple entries with same data and prefill a lot of it, allowing you to edit, as needed.
What's great about it: It was a little less tedious this year
What's not so great: had some repetitious data entry

Don't Like the Fee

I found the refund processing fee to be hidden and surprising; I am sure the fine print on the box says so, but as a long-time user of Turbo Tax I trusted that what I have been paying for fees (e-filing for state) is what I would continue to pay. I will look at other softwares next year as a result.
I am disappointed in you Turbo Tax.
What's not so great: I didn't care to pay for the refund processing fee

Disappointed in TurboTax's update process

Very disappointed that it required a significant effort to e-file my return. Part of the time was spent searching Turbo Taxes help files, which finally concluded that I should uninstall and reinstall the SW.
What's great about it: The software worked fine for my very vanilla return
What's not so great: I spent 2-3 hours trying to e-file my return due to system issues

Smooth and Quick

Like to see something on retirement issues. Started taking my SS checks this year. What will be impact for Next Year? Especially for state. Don't want to end up with a penalty for underpaying.

What's great about it: You can go as detailed as you want just to be sure all angles are covered
What's not so great: Program was looking and "demanding" updates before exiling. Did the updates and STILL asking. Needed to restart pgm
