Last Turbo for me

I work in one state and live in anohter. I don't want to pay for two states, when I can fill out the second one myself. Can't figure out where to divide the income between the states. My state taxes have been a mess for the last 2 years. Filing an extension 'til I can figure this mess out.

Turbo tax good overall, probs with military retire

I did three tax returns using this program. The two standard tax returns went well, but it didn't recognize my mother's military/federal retirement disbursement. The program kept wanting to call it a 10-99 social security retirement, which it wasn't. I ended up printing forms and filing, using paper.
What's great about it: Handled standard taxes very good
What's not so great: Did poorly on military retirees tax

I like almost everything. Walks you through step by step. A little bit of nuisance to go through things that don't apply, however, I understand why. Alot of those questions you wouldn't even think of. I've been using Turbo Tax since 1996. I love it!!!! Makes it so easy 'even I can do my own taxes"
What's great about it: Very simple to use!
What's not so great: Some questions don't apply to simple tax forms.

Cost of Turbo tax should include one free federal and state file I mailed my State return to avoid the charge.

I have been using Turbo Tax for the last 5 years and it gets easier and easier!
What's great about it: Had one issue and it was solved almost immediately
What's not so great: Nothing! It was super easy!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Blue Screen of Death

The software is good and easy. There are parts that are not clear, but for some reason I got the blue screen of death 3 times...tack that on to paying taxes and having to reload the file 3 times...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
What's great about it: easy
What's not so great: conflict in video card

What happened to TurboTax?

I have used TurboTax for several years. In the past I was always asked to check for updates as soon as I loaded the program. This time no check until the end, AFTER the return couldn't be finished because some forms weren't complete. What's up with that?? Plus, I was always asked to import information from last year's return right away. Nothing like that this year - so I think I probably put in the wrong info for AGI when filing. Why no automatic import this year??
What's great about it: As always, easy to use
What's not so great: Not as user-friendly as in the past
