It stinks

Program does not allow for easy corrections of mistakes or changes. It was too frustrating to use. I have used Turbo Tax for quite a number of years but this years experience forces me to try something else next year.

Lots of room for improvement.... 3 1/2 stars only.
What's great about it: help in making corrections was good.
What's not so great: Cannot get a screen printout???

I had a good experience so far depending on if the return goes through ok will definitely consider it next year.

The program was very easy to follow from a flow perspective but there were some areas I was not very familiar with and having more information about what is included or excluded would have been helpful and I did not see that there, for example what can I use for my MN children's education credit - what qualifies?
What's great about it: The system caught when I did not complete every field, it was easy to follow and leveraged my information from last year

Tax Assistance For The Hopelessly Inept

I loathe doing my taxes/but TurboTax makes the process far simpler and more efficient. Well worth the money, especially since it often finds deductions I forget.
What's great about it: This makes figuring and filing taxes SO much faster and easier.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I think, Deluxe version should also include Rental property. As these days, everyday people have a property to rent or something to rent to supplement their income. Deluxe has everything they need except the rental.

Value continues to decrease

I have been using TurboTax since the '80s however, while the price has continued to raise, the improvements to the product seem to have stalled. This year as I needed to deal with some new situations, many of the questions assume understanding of tax law and regulations and just seemed to be restatement of the tax instructions without the value of the context.
It does very well when just entering the same information as previous years with current values
What's great about it: automatic carry forward of static information from prior year
What's not so great: many questions assume understanding of tax law and regulations
