Awesome Product!

T-Tax just gets better each year. Now they just import my W-2 and 1099s. I love it.
What's great about it: Incredibly easy and fast
What's not so great: Sometimes it gets in an e-culdesac

2013 Refund Processing

Excellent tax program. This is my second year using Turbo Tax filing system and I am amazed at how thorough and uncomplicated they make the process.
What's great about it: Clear, concise directions.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I made a mistake to select amend state tax, then change my selection NOT to amend, however turbo tax did not allow me to e-file.....seems problem with software. I had to file by mail.

Almost a pleasure!

The annual ritual of preparing tax returns by mid-April is the most dreaded event on my yearly calendar. TurboTax makes it comparatively easy, and almost a pleasure, by simplifying the process to an interview by a computer. I no longer have to translate the IRS lingo on the forms and instructions.
What's great about it: being interviewed with plain-language questions that I can answer.
What's not so great: A couple of times I had to leave TurboTax to conduct internet "research" on tax jargon

Thank God for Error check process

I was sweating a potential $4000 dollar Fed tax bill but then Turbo tax did a cross check for errors and identified 3 key pieces of information that I was missing. Once I include the missing info, my tax bill was reduced to $500. I was seriously relieved. Good deal turbo tax!
What's great about it: The error check process saved me $3500.00!!
What's not so great: N/A

Watch Out! It did NOT minimize taxes!!

TurboTax keeps assuring the user that it is MAKING SURE that it is doing everything to minimize taxes. Right. Then why did it decide it should use the simple form for state taxes which then provides no opportunity to deduct taxes for renting, (Homestead Credit)? It overlooked this for both WI and MN, which would have resulted in paying more than $400 more in taxes total if I myself, had not thought of looking into this. It should have asked more questions like if rent was paid, etc., BEFORE suggesting the short form instead of the long form. And this would seem to be a pretty common situation - it does ask plenty of other esoteric questions.
What's great about it: Speeds things up by incorporating info from last year
What's not so great: Did NOT minimize taxes like it keeps claiming

Would have been nice to know ahead of time that the files couldn't be opened/transferred. Some of us are old dinosaurs and need to be guided, step by step. Took much longer this year than it should have. Also, new county tax this year...still not sure what was taxed & what wasn't. Would be nice to see relevant state data.
What's great about it: covered all deductions
What's not so great: not able to transfer data from old computer for previous years!!!!!
