Please fix the radio buttons to "stick" once clicked, so that when reviewing sections previously completed, all buttons remain checked. Many buttons require re-checking each time during a review.

Good product, but doesn't work with Linux

I avoid using Windows wherever possible. In fact Turbo Tax is the only thing that I use Windows for. Every year, I try to use it with WINE under GNU/Linux, and every year it fails. If Intuit would implement Turbo Tax so that it works under WINE, many people who also prefer not to use Windows would be able and willing to use it.
What's great about it: Makes it easy to do my taxes.
What's not so great: Only works with Windows or Mac OS. Can't be used with GNU/Linux.

I have been using Turbo Tax for the last 4 years. I love it. It is very user-friendly and cheaper than a tax preparation business.
What's great about it: User-friendly
What's not so great: Internet problems made it difficult

What's great about it: Used TT for the last several years, still easy to use and asks the questions that need to be asked.
What's not so great: Endless loops that need to be addressed instead of having to figure ways around them.

Fed excellent, State not so much
on April 13, 2014

I have used TurboTax for multiple years and my impression remains the same. It does an excellent job on federal but state (in my case Wisconsin) is weak. Instructions on "lead me" option did not allow me to complete submission of a significant deduction. Had to go into forms view and override so I could enter correct info. Would not have known this if I had not read detail in hardcopy doc from Wisconsin indicating that I was eligible for the deduction. My advice is get your state's documents and read closely. Just relying on TurboTax could cost you $$$.
What's great about it: Generally easy to use, loved auto transfer of info
What's not so great: State instructions
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Won't work for clergy
on April 13, 2014

I have used this software fr years and always had difficulties because there is no provision for adjusting line 16 to subtract a housing allowance. You assume the W-2 or 1099 will indicate oo in the amt taxable but, for retired clergy whose benefit does not cover the whole amount or, the pension program does not state but checks "not determined" it is necessary to override the amount in lie 16 which, in turn, means you will not allow the return to be e-filed. That is a major flaw.
What's great about it: ease
What's not so great: No accuonting for housing allowance
