What's not so great: Thought i was finished and 6 forms i could not remove finally just deleted . Probably end up in federal prison .
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Updates Ruined my return experience.

The use of Turbo tax program was upon first process was great. But if i left of some needed info ( address ) the recovery got a little more difficult. Getting access to the Government E-filling pin numbers was some what confusing. When i first tried transmitting by E-file it would not let me. Had to spend extra time figuring out how to find the Updates. This took as much time as preparing my Taxes.
What's great about it: Start up was fine
What's not so great: Trying to find reason for up date was difficult.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I do my own taxes and they are complicated. Generally a 3 week, daily ordeal. I find the organization of TurboTax very helpful and I only have to call the tax people a few times.
Downloaded financial data seems to come with missing data and yet the financial folks say they can see it on their side.

What's great about it: Easy to follow
What's not so great: More detail needed for missing downloaded information. Weak on Form 5468 Options.

Makes taxes easy

Over all great package, love the electronic file, I just wish the state file, was a no pay, or cheaper. I have been a turbo tax user since, 1997.
What's great about it: works great, as advertised.
What's not so great: having to pay for state file

Multiple returns in multiple states done quickly!

Liked how easy and quick it is to get additional state returns and how easily TurboTax transferred info or walked through details to complete the state return. Made taxes less troublesome to complete (still painful....they are "taxes", not presents!)
What's great about it: Easy to complete returns from other states and to complete returns for the kids
What's not so great: Expensive to purchase returns beyond the one included in Deluxe

Clean and quick

Overall very pleased with TurboTax. We have been using it for many years without any issues.
The only oddness this year (which is the opposite of prior behavior) were (1) lack of any attempt to look up and pre-populate the W-2 values by contacting our employer directly (this W-2 download never worked for me, so maybe this was just abandoned); and (2) the lack of automatic checking for form and software updates. This second point nearly caused a serious problem because I did not know the updates had not occurred when I was nearly done with the return (usually done automatically as part of the install earlier that same day). Fortunately, TurboTax indicated it was waiting on the sales tax updates for the Texas sales tax forms which were due 12/31/2013. As the current date was 4/12/2014, I manually triggered a TurboTax update, and it found quite a few corrections to apply to my taxes including the missing Texas sales tax form. But if I had been in another state where the initial form was available, I might have completely filed my taxes without ever having updated TurboTax to the latest program and form files which could have caused known errors to be applied to my federal taxes.
What's great about it: Quick and effective
What's not so great: Did not automatically update to latest forms
