Ohio state return does not include Small Business Deduction form, only a link to the form. The main reason I purchased the state software was to complete that form.
Ohio state return did not readily handle income from other states and related unless I purchased the state software for the other states.
It is unnecessarily cumbersome to get to places where you want to change or input data.
Handling of self-employment health insurance and Keogh/profit sharing /defined benefit plans is better, but could be better.
Software does not do a good job transferring miscellaneous information into the return and schedules.
What's not so great: Ohio State Return not very good

I have been filing my stepdaughter's taxes via TurboTax for several years now, and finally realized that the program has been continuing to import data that is outdated, and has not prompted me to check, review, and change. Because of this, she has been missing out on education tuition credits for the last 3 years, and will have to file and amended return to get money back. The first year she went to college, she was claimed as a dependent on her father's tax return, so she didn't qualify for the Education Credit. After that, she has been supporting herself and living on her own - however, when I imported the previous year's data, the program "assumed" that her filing status (i.e., is someone else claiming you as a dependent, or CAN someone else claim you as a dependent) didn't change, and never asked if it should be updated for the current tax return. Very frustrating!!! I had to go searching for the info, and finally found it and changed it! Went from owing $60, to getting a refund of about $1300. Somehow, this data needs to be more visible, and especially for college students, more questions need to be asked during the personal info section, so that OLD imported data doesn't just get carried over without being reviewed by the user.....
What's not so great: Imports last year's filing status information, but didn't ask me to update

15th year using turbo tax

I've used Turbo Tax for over 15 years for my business and personal taxes. I may dread sitting down each year to actually put the numbers together but Turbo Tax makes it easier because I do not have to relearn the program every year. They keep the product fresh and updated with important tax releases and still keep the navigation of the product familiar. That saves me a lot of time so I can focus on the numbers not the program. I would never switch to another product. I went with the best back then and I am staying with the best going forward.
What's great about it: easy, continual enhancements, they don't radically change the look from year to year

Security

I have been using TurboTax for years and years now. I would not be able to do my own taxes without it. I like how all of the calculations show automatically as you go. I have also used the Audit Defense, which gives more peace of mind. I highly recommend TT.
What's great about it: Security about calculations and help available

Easy for Number Hater!

I hate dealing with any kind of business/tax process. Husband wanted me to do our taxes this year. First time I had used Turbo Tax. Since I did have my documentation organized, the software made this process as painless as possible. Still hate tax filing--but Turbo Tax made it palatable.
What's great about it: Very self-explanatory.
What's not so great: Software doesn't take all of the pain from tax filing--but it certainly makes it easier!

Killer Program but needs more print options

Outstanding program. I have been using TurboTax for over 20 years and it always gets better. My "Con" is not being able to print the page I am on to review later in the program. Sometimes the page relates to a thought later in the program and even though you can "flag" a page, printing it off can be very helpful. I had to use the "print screen' button to image the page onto a word document, which does not turn out the best. I also run my taxes twice to see if I placed my information correctly, and if I get different result I want to compare one to the other page by page in the program sequence. Printing pages helps with that but if you could open two tax returns under different saved names simultaneously then I could accomplish that analysis much more efficiently. However to open a second return you have to save and close the current return, making that possible efficient comparison impossible. Please help for next year!
What's great about it: Very thorough with great resources for explanations
What's not so great: Need to be able to print a copy of the active page you are on to review specific items.

Spent an hour preparing the return and it would not e-file. Tried 3 times to update, as instructed by Intuit. I also did this update when first installing the program. Will not use this product again.
