My Refund

I have been using turbo tax for several years and have always received a larger refund than using other tax prep companies.
What's great about it: Easy to use and pointed out extra things I could deduct
What's not so great: Can be hard to find some forms if you aren't familiar with TurboTax
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

I completed my federal AND state taxes in an hour. It takes me longer than that to gather all the information I need to fill in the forms. TurboTax explains all of the gobbledegook that appears in our tax code. Bless you TurboTax!

Eased my mind

I was able to run a couple of what ifs very easily. I entered various IRA contributions to see how it affected my taxes. Also, I was able to go back and check if I entered my wife's employer info properly. After the what if's and checks I was able to get back to my summary review easily.
What's great about it: Able to back track and review things I questioned.
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

As always, you made something painful as painless as possible. I tried another service a few years back. Absolutely hated it. Not as clear, not as fast...very painful....switch back was pretty easy...not as easy as sticking to TurboTax
What's great about it: Easy to follow, love the downloads, easy to use

Taxes Done As Simply As Possible

Like the flexibility (your own pace or go through each step in the process) and very thorough. Covered all tax implication possibilities.
Wasn't always apparent how some of the calculations were derived (particularly education credit). Did not fully understand the qualified expense limit you could chose and why. There was not an explanation of that other than the first $4k is exempt.
What's great about it: Flexible & Thorough

Not what I was accustomed to...

Was 95% completed on 4 separate occasions, when I received a Turbo Tax error message, causing the program to restart without saving the return. Was so frustrated that I went back to the store and almost purchased the H&R software. I am uncertain that I will use Turbo Tax again.
What's great about it: Once the errors stopped it was as easy as previous years.
What's not so great: Error Messages shutting down Turbo Tax
