stressful

There is no explanation of how to resolve a problem. W hy are there problems???
If I import data from financial institutions or employer, I expect the data in the correct fields without me having to add additional lines or have to wonder by something is under contraction in schedule D for example. I expect turbotax to be versed on all aspects since this is your business. I need somewhere that doesn't create additional stress of doing taxes.

What's great about it: I see some improvements each year.
What's not so great: final review after you choose to efile... DO all reviews FIRST so I have a chance to research ahead of time.

Poor job with deceased taxpayers. You indicate that the deceased taxpayer should sign the return and ask them if they have insurance for next year. It also does not say how the executor/representative should sign the return.

Less Tax Filing Stress

I recommend TurboTax. In the old days I would spend a weekend doing my federal and state taxes. Now it takes a couple of hours. If my files had been better organized every year to begin with it would take perhaps fifteen minutes total.
What's great about it: quick
What's not so great: extra convenience filing fees add up
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo Tax provides easy to use and understand interface. Helpful guides and questions throughout. additional help for any items you may not understand completely. Great product - I have used for more than 10 yrs.
What's great about it: easy to use, straight forward questions, additional help if you need it.
What's not so great: dislike the app continues to ask me for personal data even though i have used Turbo Tax several years in a row.

Problems with MN Property Tax refund section

The software does not accurately track HOUSEHOLD income for the MN Property Tax refund which could lead to incorrectly filing for the refund. It is pretty basic stuff, as far as taxes go, and they missed it.
Also, the software does not allow you to uncheck the box that takes you through the refund step. I had to figure out a work around.
What's great about it: Quick and easy
What's not so great: MN Property tax refund section does not work properly
