I have used Turbo Tax for years. After briefly trying another program, I have found Turbo Tax to be easy to use and comprehensive.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: The real time tax snapshot is good, but maybe better to show until after expenses in order to reduce stress!

I've been using Turbo-Tax for 5 years and have seen the improvements you have made. I enjoy using the software, but the price is getting high enough and my retirement income is getting tight enough that i might have to consider going back to the manual system,.
What's great about it: Easy to use and User Friendly
What's not so great: Too expensive

Easy Street!

I've been a user since the beginning ofTurboTax, and it just keeps getting better. All of it is good, but the standout feature to me is the interface with my financial mangement company. The transfer of data from them and their data structure to the required IRS forms is transparent, fast and easy. I shudder remembering the difficulty and time spent researching stock trades and entering them into the right forms. Now it's a button push. Good on ye, TurboTax!

One little nit

After e-filing my federal tax returns, the instructions said I had to print out form 8453 (one page) and on it was checked form 8949. The checkbox stated ".. if you elect not to report your transactions electronically on form 8949". Well, the list of forms that were e-filed included form 8949, so why did I have to print out the form 8453, and was I still supposed to attach a form 8949 and mail it? Since TurboTax knew that I e-filed form 8949, it should not have instructed me to print out the form 8453, unless I had to mail it in anyway, which the instructions did not state. I still don't know if I am supposed to mail in the form 8453 with the form 8949 attached.
What's not so great: Ambiguous instructions

Great software that I have been using for years and years. Would be nice if there was better help function for long time users...would be a good touch.
As above, I wish it was more direct in telling me only look at this section if specific issues have changed vs. last year as I'm always afraid if I don't go thru a section I will miss something. A pop-up could say based on last year don't worry about this unless...
What's great about it: Great software.
What's not so great: Not sure if there is a way to say I don't need to deal with certain areas because prior year returns show no carryovers

A Reliable Standard

Easy navigation and quick response, even on my generally under-powered computer. I look forward every year to doing our taxes because TurboTax makes it so easy. The improvements that have been added over the past 10 years have made it even easier to enter data and to save the resulting tax returns. The program automatically brings all our information forward year after year, making deductions and credits easy to track.
What's great about it: I have used TurboTax for many years and find it better every year.

Tax form will not file electronically

Your software will not let me submit my federal returns electronically. After I hit the submit button, it says cannot submit and that there is an update available. I download the update. It says successfully installed. I go back and get the same message that my return can not be filed electronically, and on it goes. I want my money back. The electronic filing is one of the primary reasons I bought the software. I am leaving town on a flight in 2 hours and this is greatly inconveniencing me.
