Easy Peezy Refund

My husband and I filed taxes together for the fist time and turbo tax made it super easy. We did the step by step process and if ever we had a question we would easily type it in or click on the more info button. We never felt like we had to little information and everything was clearly listed for us.
What's great about it: It was easy to file jointly, questions were easily answered

A fast and painless approach to paying taxes.

I've uses Turbo Tax software for 3 of the last 5 tax years. Turbo Tax has the best interface that I've used and is seemingly ahead of the competition in terms of ease of use and guidance for filing.
I do feel however that the current deluxe version is too limited in regards to filing MISC income; deductions using schedule C are included with one of the competitive "Deluxe" packages. I did not feel that the ability to take full deductions for a independent business should require a paid upgrade to Turbo Tax. Otherwise I was happy with the scope, function and use of the software. I'll look at the alternatives for 2014; I'll either buy the business version, or use the competitive product if it offers the forms I need.

Disappointed first time

Don't Recall one way or the other but assume did 2012 taxes on different computer. But had the 2012 pdf of the Turbo Tax return right there in My documents and couldn't find any which way to get name address socials for family from Point A to Point B.
What's great about it: As usual easy to walk through and get it done
What's not so great: Couldn't transfer 2012 personal family information

I am mostly satisfied. However, I felt the explanation of what causes one to pay AMT (Alternative Minimum Tax) was insufficient. I was well under the $200K amount mentioned as triggering it.
What's great about it: Automates an extremely complicated process
What's not so great: Insufficient explanation of what drives the AMT.

Good, but frustrating at times

Entering an inherited house that was sold was a challenge and unpleasant. Our MA Interest and Dividend Excluded Page had entries on line 1, but entries for the appropriate Funds on line 8 with incorrect amounts. It almost doubled the total, which was incorrect. After getting the return ready to file I had to go back and manually delete the line 8 entries out of the form.
What's great about it: Generally Good
What's not so great: Entering sale of inherited home and unexplained entries on MA rtn
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Done and Run Again!

Once again I have survived tax season with help from Turbo Tax. Thank you Intuit!
What's great about it: Always certain of an accurate and complete return.
What's not so great: Turbo Tax doesn't actually pay my taxes.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Reliable

I have been using TurboTax for years and have always found it accurate and reliable, but this year there are two items that the system thinks are errors that prevent the e-file activity. There is no explanation of why the system thinks these are errors, nor are there any suggestions to correct. I may have to mail my returns this year. One supposed error is an entry from a 1099-R, and the data entered is exactly as reported on the form, but the program will not let me continue to the file activity.
What's great about it: complete and detailed - nothing missed
What's not so great: items identified as questions at time of electronic filing has prevented final e-file
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
