I love it and have used it for more than a few years. Quite speedy and thorough.
What's great about it: no need to look up new tax changes
What's not so great: are there any?
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Preparation FEE - Saved!

I had no idea what or who the PBGC was and their phone number was of no value. I can find an IRS explanation all by myself. It is when I need an interpretation that I make a call or ask for help. Turns out that we did not qualify for the credit and I was disappointed. Seems unfair that there is no way to deduct my husbands medical insurance premiums since they are out of his retirement and yet we were taxed on the full amount of his retirement. If he were employed then the premium would come out pretax... This doesn't seem fair to me. Still unhappy, but I understand that if it is not more than 10% of AGI that it is not deductible. Next year it will cost over $10K and if we make over $100K all is not deductible. This does not seem fair. Perhaps he is better off working than retired?? But only if his employer offers a good plan for medical. What a mess our system is when it is better not to work. If I quit my job, then we can get assistance and not have to pay for medical at all. Makes no sense. Sorry, just venting.
What's great about it: Easy to follow question and answer format
What's not so great: HCTC was difficult to understand eligibility requirements and got no answer that I couldn't find myself.

Good Product

Great program. I do not like the walk me through all the steps. Better to choose the "I'll select the areas I want to work on". (Only for folks who have used the program extensively). The updated tables for sales taxes were late and I needed initially to use the form. Have used Turbo Tax since inception and it remains the best on the market.
What's great about it: Pretty easy to use as long as you have all information
What's not so great: Prefer the forms over the Step by Step

What's great about it: I like the thorough explanations given when I just don't quite get it.
What's not so great: the printout of worksheets gives you 3 for every entry (ran out of ink and paper)

I wished to e-federal, but mail state. Not a straight forward step. Some other sequences not clear.
What's great about it: Very complete
What's not so great: Not always clear on the sequence of steps.

One problem

Everything was great except for the two things mentioned in the "cons" section.
What's great about it: Got me most money.
What's not so great: It could not pull student loan interest information from US education site. Had a problem with e-filing.
