As Good as it Gets

In the past the tax preparation software was good, but not for home day care businesses. This meant I could never e-file, and had to mail the return in. Over the last 3-4 years this has vastly improved and is now as perfect as it can get.
What's great about it: Easy, and for Home Day Care businesses which is great
What's not so great: Nothing

AWESOMENESS!!

I was paying someone to do my taxes and I always felt like I was never getting back what I should have and then years later I would get a notice saying I owed money. Now that I am using Turbo Tax it's easy, a step by step process and I really feel like I am getting my maximum refund!! I have told so many people about Turbo Tax and when they use it they are like Whoa that was so simple and easy! I love Turbo Tax and I like that they give you options as you go along to upgrade to deluxe and business packages, etc.
What's great about it: Quick and Easy
What's not so great: absolutely nothing

Turbo Tax is still improving

I have used Turbo Tax for many years. Four years ago I tried a competitor to save some money; big mistake--they didn't download information from your financial institutions.
Some improvements made in the last year really make a difference. Switching from Step-by-Step mode to Forms mode and back again now works well. Following a "where does this number come from" investigation also works much better than it used to.
When you revisit a Step-by-Step it mostly remembers your previous answers and you can just Continue your way through to what you want to get to, but, not always. Often it will not remember an answer like "none of the above".
This year TT decided it had to do a finally update before it could electronically file my forms. When it was done with the update, it did not take me back to where I was when it did the update and I had to go through all of the electronic filing steps all over again. It did, however, remember all of my answers.
I will use Turbo Tax again next year. I sure wish it would remember between sessions that I want to Explore on My Own and that I do not wish to upgrade my version, but these are nits. It really works quite well.
What's great about it: Import from the previous year's return. Download 1099's from financial institutions. Much easier mode switching.
What's not so great: Can't copy text from your instructions/information pop-up windows. Some of the step-by-step screens do not remember.

Love TurboTax

I have used TurboTax for at least seven years and it is incredibly simple to use and understand. I get my taxes done quickly and easily and I know they are correct.

The step by step instructions / prompts, import capability, and the help - information files made it a one stop, one time process. It really provided peace of mind and ensured I didn't miss anything.

Great Tax Tool

Turbo Tax makes tax filing easy. The step by step instructions are easy to understand. I like having explanations of the exemptions so we could determine if it applied to our situation.
When we overlooked a form, we typed it in the search box and found it. Being able to import my information from my employer or bank and import last year's information is a great time saver.

GOT IT DONE ON SHORT NOTICE

I had to get the return done in short order (April 15 in 2 days) and I had not done one of this type before. I got it done without too much trouble, but I will have to thoroughly review the home office area in the software to see if I made mistakes
What's great about it: The software leads you from one point to the next easily
What's not so great: not enough explanation in some areas (i.e., home office)
