Easy Program for Taxes

Excellent value for doing individual taxes. Easy navigation, but could use a search field for finding entries (like taxes on income property) when you want to double-check entries. I intend to use TurboTax again next year.

Easy tax preparation

There was plenty of help from the program regarding expenses paid for college education. It was very difficult to find where to enter education expenses for K-12. We had alot of travel expenses and school fees to deduct in regards to our high school student. I am familiar with where this information goes but it would be impossible for someone who is not familiar with the forms to find where to put those deductions. Step by step did not work. I had to find the form and enter the information myself. I was very pleased with the program in all other areas.
What's great about it: option of step by step or doing it yourself
What's not so great: filling out education expense information

Very easy to follow, everything is well explained, and there is the ability to correct entries along the way if info changes. This is my 7th year using TurboTax and I am always pleased.

Easy work

I'm a longtime user, since the beginning. I have always found the software easy to use and have never had an accuracy issue. I will continue to do my own taxes with Turbo Tax as long as it keeps coming.
What's great about it: This program is so easy to use. I import my data from the previous year and then follow the interview.
What's not so great: N/A

I like the way TurboTax simplifies the arduous complexity of filing taxes in this day and age. The software truly eases the headache of dealing with the dreaded April deadline.
What's great about it: So very simple to use. Simply follow the prompts.
What's not so great: There really are no cons that I have found.

Just makes doing taxes easier

Great software, easy to use and save the important information. Provides an overview of taxes with details of everything you need to know about the tax filing. Ability to save and go back and book mark where you left off. Recommendations and audit protection to make sure nothing is missed. It just makes taxes a lot easier.
What's great about it: Nice interface, great layout, e-file, allows for jumping around, easy to understand
What's not so great: Have to buy it every year, state e-file not free.

Disappointment

Depreciation information from prior year (2012) was not brought in entirely. Have in past years of using Turbo Tax received notification all info was brought in from prior year to calculate the depreciation. Had to respond to several question responses this year, which repeated information carried forward in past tax years.
Got several errors when error check was run. Had to put information in several boxes on the IRS forms and worksheets to correct the errors. The info for these boxes was specifically requested and answered, as in years past, as progressied through the Turbo Tax step-by-step guidance but were not carried forward to the appropriate IRS froms and worksheets.
Above issues resulted in much investigative effort to ascertain what was really being requested, what was omited and why Turbo Tax did not carry forward information as in years past. Spent considerable time verifying all responses were properly made and determining Turbo Tax didn't perform as expected from experience from in past years.
What's great about it: Information fillin in requests
What's not so great: Not all info was brought in from prior year, e.g. vehicle depreciation. Did not fill in IRS forms.

Better each year

Felt TurboTax is getting better and easier to work with each year, taking the complexity out of the nightmare and letting me sleep a little better knowing I didn't miss or mess something up. Thanks for the hard work, I look forward to next years taxes (NOT). But, do appreciate your product.
