What's great about it: INterview process, continuity as return user, help
What's not so great: Sometimes it gets caught up in illogical errors.

I have used TurboTax for several years and find it so easy to use. The questions asked are straight forward and easy to answer--and if you don't understand what is being asked, you can always click a button and have additional information right away. I've also had questions beyond the help included in the program--it was so easy to get guidance from the TurboTax Community. I think Intuit has thought of everything!

AMT Questions

For the above screen, there are no explain this links when you ask to Enter any adjustments to your investment income if they are different for AMT. What kind of adjustments? How do you know if they are different for AMT? This is the trickiest part of completing a return if you have to do AMT and guidance is absent.
What's not so great: Your screen for adjust Investment income as part of the AMT calculations lacks any guidance.

Mostly very good

I have used TT for years and recommend it highly. This year was the first year I could file jointly (thanks IRS for recognizing my marriage!). Previously I had to do two versions of 1040, one as though we were single, and one as though we were married, because the state required that we file jointly. What a pain in the neck, even with TT! It was lovely that I could use the "fake" joint form from last year to download everything for this year. However, there were several times when I had to go back and correct things because it was unclear as to which Schedule C I was filling out. We both have more than one Sch C, but it took me a little bit to figure out that "you" meant my form, and my wife's name meant her form. Otherwise, I am thrilled that you get the clergy stuff right - another typical wrinkle for taxes.
What's great about it: catches all the possibilities
What's not so great: not always sure what I"m dealing with

As I have used TurboTax for many, many years I feel it just keeps getting better and better. It is clear, concise and easy to follow. Thanks for making it so easy to file -- now if you could ony make it easier to pay!!
