What's great about it: i love to play with my tax calculation
What's not so great: allow me do more - create more examples and then optimize the return

Easy Peasy

Would be nice to see how close you came to having enough items to warrant an itemized deduction, vs. the standard deduction. It's possible the info is there, and I just missed it.
What's great about it: Very easy to follow. Context help is good. Like the bookmark feature.

Some Serious Flaws

A key help to see if anything is missing by comparing with previous filings is the Tax History Report, which isn't apparent as there and available until you print out everything for review, which you can't even do until you are in the pay and file sequence. When I discovered it after unnecessarily printing some 40 pages, it helped me to find and omission, which I then corrected. But then when I resumed the pay and file sequence I didn't know whether I had already agreed to pay the prior wrong sum, and there was no final confirmation of what I actually e-paid. Guess that will come by e-mail, then I'll know if I got it right. Also, it took me a long time in the beginning to learn that I had to double-click on the shaded boxes to get the underlying forms and worksheets to allow me to enter the numbers. Would have helped to have a few simple instructions up front.
What's great about it: Good cary over of info, easy guide helps not to miss anything.
What's not so great: Poor review sequence. Lack of key instructions.

What's great about it: Structured just like you need for the inputs from your tax documents; do the guided tour, or input direct to forms
What's not so great: Need to check local tax codes for the some situations

I've been using Turbo Tax since it was Parsons Technology, and it's great.
What's great about it: Downloading of broker transactions etc.
What's not so great: Foreign taxes have to be easier somehow. It's really confusing -- every year

Easy and Fast

Made filing two semi complicated forms easy to do - with good help files and guidence. Only problem was an error of too many characters in a field and no obvious way to fix it.
What's great about it: ease of use, great help files, good interface.
What's not so great: Can't think of any.

I had royalty income from oil/gas production and Sch C is more for business activity and can't seem to accept "lease payments for the earned royalty" on land that was sold years ago but the mineral rights were kept.
On the whole, TurboTax is super. I have used TT for my personal income tax return preparation since 1990.
What's great about it: Mainly easy to follow Step-by-Step
What's not so great: Problems with Sch. C

Awesome Refund

Overall, it was easy to follow each step to complete our taxes. It was also easy to do a comparison between filing jointly versus individually as a married couple.
What's great about it: Easy to use
What's not so great: Transfer from last year's return a little off
Pros: I bought or sold investments
