Easy Peasy!

As always, TurboTax made tax time easier than what it would have been on my own, and I didn't have to drag my files to a location outside of my home. We've used TurboTax since the mid-90's and have grown to trust and rely on it. We tried using a name brand tax service two different times, and each time they failed to provide service as well as doing it myself with TurboTax.
What's great about it: Quick and easy

I like the way you lead us step by step so we don't miss any necessary moves; I repeat, however, that you might make the method of adding updates on the very last step (transmitting) by the simple push of a button. As you can see from the "help" site, a lot of people are confused on how to correct their return so that it will, in fact, transmit.
Also, don't ever try to use TurboTax if you have dial-up internet, as I do!
What's great about it: Once the record-keeping is organized, the tax preparation takes very little out of my life.
What's not so great: Difficulty in figuring out how the "re-efile" when there have been new or additional updates in the Code.

Sales tax locations and rates

Did not allow for Multiple sales tax rates when famliy was in more than one state at same time. rates whole family at same location at same time. had to make everything the same before it would clear the error. Taxes went up aproximately $300!!!

Made my life easier

Overall this is a great product and makes my life so much easier. I always struggle with whether I should itemize or not and this program helps so much with that walking you through all the steps to help decide what's the best way to go.
What's great about it: I love that the software lists what information and forms you need and then does the calculations for you.
What's not so great: Finihing up is a little clunky. It seems like it takes some time to get to the point you where you can print a copy.

Piece Of Cake

This product is mature and keeps up with the changing tax laws and the increasing complexity of forms and their linkages. For the more complex than average return, it still does a good job, though the user should be ready to do a little research into the IRS instructions now and then for some of the more esoteric types of income and deductions, and investment details.
I had a little trouble with the downloaded tax package from my financial planning company. The higher level software edition might have been smoother. I had to fudge a few things in miscellaneous expenses and premium income from selling covered calls.
But for full college expenses and credits and income and all kinds of deductions, it's smooth sailing.
Installation is a breeze, updates are instantaneously applied and taxes recomputed.
Prior year's returns are pulled right in to help guide the current year return generation.
State is computed right along with Federal.
I'd have to give this product a ten, because I know how difficult it is to maintain and update software and stay in this kind of market, and retain customers. These guys do it right.

What's great about it: Most everything on the majority of tax returns is accounted for.
What's not so great: The only con I can think of is there is no place to determine why any particular form is generated and included.
