I generally love this product. However, all of the purchase/upgrade options are tiring and leave me feeling that TT does not have my best interests in mind. I found it particularly difficult to print a state return given credits from taxes paid to other state. Your system was not intuitive and required a help line call to resolve.

Turbo Tax is great. I'm a faithful user of turbo tax, now for the past 12 years. Each year it gets easier and easier to use. It's help me through out the years, when I was a student, a husband, a father of two, and a Harry home owner. It's help me sort out all the different questions I've had.

Fastest return yet!

I've been using Turbo Tax for over a decade and this year's version was the best yet. Quick and easy, I breezed through my taxes in just over an hour. Couldn't be happier with this year's version.
What's great about it: Quick, Easy, Done right

I've used TT since the early 90's and while I tried others, I kept returning to TT the next year. You've smoothed out most of the steps to a complete and successful return. One suggestion is to alphabetize the charitable contributions list each year. That would be a great help for completing taxes sooner and using that list for the next years donations. Overall experience is very good and I'll continue to use you in the future.
What's great about it: Easy data entry/organized well/ability to alternate from Easysteps to Onmyown
What's not so great: PLEASE alphabetize charitable contributions listings each year and allow inserting in future years.

Very Helpful

Overall, I have been a faithful TurboTax customer for as long as I can remember. I like it and will keep coming back.
However.... the user interface needs fine tuning. I think you have an 85% solution, but you can improve.
Some slides are advanced with a "Yes" or "No" button while others have a "Continue" button with a yes/no check box imbedded in the slide. Pick one way and stick with it.
Also while entering 1099 R forms you ask if the account was a qualifying account but then ask a second time later in the process.
I think it would also be helpful if you broke down certain calculations. Example: You lump together all the wages into a single number. The first time the total was presented, I didn't immediately recognize it. As a result, I broke out a calculator to verify I had entered everything. Had you simply displayed each w2 with a grand total, my initial impulse to verify would have been eliminated. I must have turned to my calculator 30 or 40 times during the process in order to understand the origins of various numbers.
I know these points may seems trivial, but each interruption and disjointed presentation adds time, breaks the concentration of the user, and ultimately increases the chance of a mistake being made and/or not caught.
Everything should be done to move the user through as smooth as possible.
What's great about it: Eliminates the need to be a tax expert
What's not so great: Inconsistent slides
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Found My Errors!

I gave it a 5, because I think it does A LOT for significantly less than what one would pay a tax professional. Additionally, it caught mistakes we had made with our retirement, because we'd moved up in to another tax bracket. It doesn't just take the numbers you put in, it really analyzes them and is a smart enough program to catch mistakes made in retirement accounts.
However, it's not a person, so you can't expect it to take the place of human when it comes to helping you work through investment issues. It did however give me the basics of what I needed to do.
What's great about it: Easy to follow along with, knows what mistakes we are likely to make
What's not so great: Online community was not that helpful

Tax codes are too complicated - but this helps. info pop-ups are good and don't detract from work flow.
be more honest/up front about state e-filing costs - sounds convenient, but not worth the price tag. I had to go back and change this once I realized the fee amount.

I'm glad Turbo Tax is dependable and trustworthy. I used to prepare my own taxes using the stubby pencil method which took me most of the day.
What's great about it: I liked the easy guide for charitable contributions
