Easy & Fast

Makes it fast and easy to handle my taxes for the last few years. Even for a procrastinator lie me.
What's great about it: very easy even with additional items to handle
What's not so great: Credit card info required
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Long time user, but this will be my last year. The final problem was that I was unable to print my state return for mailing, so I was forced to pay to do the state efile. Maybe that was Intuits plan. I will do something else next year, maybe paper, maybe free efile, maybe a competitor.
What's great about it: Used Turbotax for over 25 years
What's not so great: Problems in the 2013 edition

2013 Tax File

I always take the Audit Defense in case something was not covered but believe your rating we are a low risk for audit.
What's great about it: This year was easier to use with shorter decision paths.
What's not so great: You still wonder if everything has been captured but need to have faith.

Easy to use

An oddity.
When I previewed my final return it looked okay.
When I printed it, part way thru it changed to some foreign language(possibly sweedish) that I could not read.
I discarded the copies, 20 pages.
I deleted the pdf window, retried and it worked okay.

What's great about it: Easy to use

Complicated non-resident and resident state forms

We file married filing jointly, but I am now a Florida resident who earn some income in Virginia. My wife is still a Virginia resident earning income. Turbo Tax would only prepare a non-resident VA form. It was really time consuming to prepare two additional 1040s with a married filing separately in order to get the proper non-resident and resident VA forms.
Your Turbo Tax advice person (Steve), who I discussed the issue was most help.
Would think y'all could make the software work to preclude this multiple preparation step.

I liked using TurboTax and will use it again next year.
What's great about it: Insructions are very clear. TurboTax stepped me right through teh process.
What's not so great: None.

TT is a decent tax prep product. Unfortunately, the IRS makes ti too difficult to understand what it wants and even more unfortunately, TT does not really explain what the IRS wants. In effect, it repeats the same gibberish. Not sure what the solution is outside of making a concerted effort to use language and examples that are easy to comprehend.
What's great about it: well ordered questions
What's not so great: taxes are too complicated

Said it was not transmitted because it was a duplicate return but then came back and said they had received it, so I am not really sure.
What's great about it: easy to just walk through and get it done
