I am a somewhat computer savvy 76-yo gramma and I have used TTax for years, importing selected data from Quicken and manually entering other. I find it easy (but tedious, of course!) to Efile Fed and print State to mail. Will continue to do so in the future.
What's great about it: Walks me through
What's not so great: can't always find what I want - operator error!

Used H&R Block software last year. Turbo Tax is by far a better choice. One feature I particularly liked was an immediate certification of electronic filing was issued. This was not the case with H&R Block, instead an email was sent which I could not 'find' for this year filing.
Will use Turbo Tax from now on.

Turbo Tax is great. If you follow the instructions, they walk you through everything. It couldn't be easier. Just answer the questions and you are on your way to your refund.

I have been using TurboTax for years with great success, but today I was stunned to find that the version I bought, which is the same I've been using, no longer includes the free State return. I cannot afford to buy it separately and then pay to file it, but TurboTax stepped in and helped me out this year. That means more to me than I can say. Thank you.
What's great about it: I appreciate that TurboTax stands behind its product and goes the extra mile for the user. Few companies do that.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

As long as basic information doesn't change, product pulls in info from previous year. Main issue continues to be estimated tax forms without figures from worksheet printed on form.
What's great about it: Pulls in history minimising data entry
What's not so great: Difficult printing hard copies and estimated state tax form with all data filled in with worksheet numbers

I have used TurboTax for years. Each year it gets easier to use. Makes doing taxes almost painless. Looking forward to the day when they are painless.
What's great about it: Very easy to use
