Turbo Tax 2013

I've used Turbo Tax for the past 3 years. It is totally complete, the dialogues they use in guiding you through your return (including language and examples) are clear and understandable, it is very intuitive, and it guides you step by step through every section of the tax return process. It tailors itself to your specific situation. The information you enter is carried forward year to year making each following year's tax return simpler to process. For me, that alone makes Turbo Tax worth using every year.
What's great about it: The least complicated, most complete, and most intuitive tax return software

Simple and Convenient

I believe every tax-eligible citizen in the USA should be able to prepare her/his own tax return. I absolutely reject the thought of hiring someone to do it for me. Yes, the tax code should be simplified; however, TurboTax has helped to relieve the tax preparation burden.
What's great about it: Detailed, page-by-page, cookbook input

State Taxes hard to file on paper

If you decline e-file for state, hard to figure out how to print and file. There should be a selection for "print a hard copy and submit by mail".

Maxed my refund

As someone who spent 40 years in the computer field Intuit makes really good software. I wish other software was half as good.
What's great about it: Found items I would not have found on my own like sales tax
What's not so great: Had to go back to fill in amortized points
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Turbo tax is very easy to use. Step by step instructions guide you through the entire process for both federal and state returns. Transfer of information from prior year (if you used Turbo Tax) and from federal to state return make the process faster and reduce errors. Final feedback and confirmation of completion, error check, audit risk, and filing status get you on your way with the assurance that you really are DONE!
What's great about it: Instant feedback, fast, convenient.
What's not so great: Need a little more assurance that if I need to go back and edit or update, I won't have to start over completely.

The best part about TurboTax is the time it saves by transferring prior year's information and transferring information to the state return.
For improvement, I would like to see how the pre-filled fields are calculated, especially in the State return.Took me a long time to determine that the value in "State Taxes" was actually State Taxes and county property taxes.

Excellent Service

I was having some issues in the software update process and was forced to contact a service representative to resolve. The representative was able to identify and resolve the issue quickly, and remained respectful to me throughout the call. The representative approached with a helpful, but not condescending tone, which is a wonderful relief in comparison to most service lines.
What's great about it: SW issue was quickly and respectfully resolved
What's not so great: Minor Software issue forced me to call help line

More detail needed

Great software when your taxes are not as complicated, however there must add more descriptions to explain errors. The explanations are not as descriptive enough to understand the nature of the error. Please add more helpful hints in trying to solve errors and possibly link it back to information entered
