Another Easy Tax Year

I was able to download W-2s. This year the software was easier to use than ever. Great software. Voting should be this easy.
What's great about it: Very Easy. Accurate

Got My Return Done

Overall, using Turbo Tax was good and I have been doing so now for over 4 years. Good product :)!
What's great about it: Ease of doing return
What's not so great: some questions were reoccuring and there isn't an easy way to remove items not needed

Fun for the whole family!

I've become the tax guru for friends and family! I now have an excuse to bask in the Arizona sun each March to do my parent's taxes! I don't have to file a state return, but they do, so that works out well. I have a friend in California who also would like help, but I only get the one state return......wish you would increase that to two at least.
What's great about it: Ease of use, 1 free state return
What's not so great: only one free state return

Quick to use, pulls items from previous year so I don't forget anything. Gotta pay taxes, might as well make it easy.

Not happy this year!

I've been using Turbo Tax for many years, and had come to trust it. However, this year it seemed not to transfer a major income item (on a 1099-MISC form) from my Federal to my state return (PA). In looking carefully at the PA return this, it seems to be a hodge-podge poorly annotated (and sometimes incorrect) entries.
Unfortunately, I did not notice this until after e-filing my PA return. Now it looks like I will need to file an amended return.
Most importantly, my confidence in Turbo Tax (especially the state version) has been greatly reduced. I will certainly reconsider using it next year.
What's great about it: Process was very simple, easy to follow. Federal return seems OK.
What's not so great: Major income item omitted from state return.

Good Federal Marginal State functionality

-I've used turbotax for over a decade. The Federal tax program is great and user friendly. CA State is not. I have to file CA non-resident, so I'm overwhelmed by the goofiness of all the CA rules. MD taxes by contrast are very straightforward. I had to start at the beginning each of the 3 times I started my CA taxes. I didn't have time or info to go beginning to end. The steps need more hand holding, i.e. do any of these apply is a list way to long.
-Each year I spend as much time on CA as I do my Federal and MD combined.
-Cost of a second state return and of e-filing of state returns is outrageous for your repeat customers. No thanks, I'll take it to the post office instead.
