I did not use Turbo Tax last year. TT found my old files, converted them with no problems. Saved me a lot of time. Thank you.
What's great about it: easy to use and works well with Quicken

Getting Better All The Time

The process federal tax preparation is process is improving all the time. Not sure how it fairs though filling complex e.g., business, multiple assets, investments, tax returns, etc., tax form preparations. Still a bit clunky in filing state returns.
What's great about it: Makes preparing and filing simple federal taxes very easy
What's not so great: Lacks the same level of help in the state returns as it does in the federal return

Just another year of painful confusion

You need to hire better writers. Many of the questions are confusing in the way they are stated
What's great about it: the math is correct
What's not so great: ambiguous questions and sales pitches to buy more product

Fine until the very end - very, very frustrating

Seemed there were a lot of gimmicks at the end - sign up for this, do that. The way these final instructions were presented made it seem as if they were mandatory. In fact, if I didn't sign up for this or that service, it seemed I couldn't file my return. I'm still not sure I've actually filed. Boo hiss! Much better in previous years.
What's great about it: Quick carry-over from last year
What's not so great: Just let me file the darn thing!

Excellent Product

I have been using TurboTax for many years already and I am always satisfied with the product. I tried to use TaxAct at one point and it is more complicated.
TurboTax is easy to use, accurate, step by step guidance and you need little knowledge of taxation to work with it.
What's great about it: Easy to use, step by step guidance, accurate, less expensive than paying someone to do it.
What's not so great: None

2013 TurboTax

Other than missing out on the sales tax deduction, it was very easy to use and the efile was great.
What's great about it: Step by step, fairly easy to understand
What's not so great: 2013 TurboTax did not have the sales tax deduction form, so I missed out on that deduction

My wife has always done the taxes, but this year her work had her too busy and she asked me to get started and go with it till I got stuck.
I was nervous, because Im about the least techy guy you've met. I stuck the CD into the computer, hit go, and before I knew it, I was ready to file!
awesome, and well worth the money
What's great about it: simple to do - no need to be afraid
What's not so great: none
