i HAVE USED TURBO TAX FOR MANY YEARS AND I WILL CONTINUE TO USE TURBO TAX. I HAVE TRIED THE OTHER COMPETITION PROGRAMS BUT ALWAYS ENDED UP BUYING A TURBO TAX PROGRAM ON TOP OF THE COMPETITIONS BRAND AND ENDED UP FILING THROUGH TURBO TAX.
What's great about it: EASY TO USE AND VERY THOUROUGH
What's not so great: LOSE DATA WHEN GOING A BACK STEP TO CHECK SOMETHING
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

When asking about a possible deduction, like medical expenses, you should tell us FIRST, that we need 2% of our AGI to start to qualify, not at the end of it all, after I wasted all that time.

Why not allow the next years data[2-14] to be input during the year on the current turbo tax instead of waiting until the 2014 version is issued. The you could allow the data to be transferred to the new version. It would make things a lot easer. Especially the deduction, they would be fresh on your mind and you would have to gather all the information at the end of the year.

Printing turned out to be interesting -- like a revolving door over and over again.
Also, one section of deductions led me to do the same thing
What's great about it: Always good at step-by-step
What's not so great: got stuck in a loop a few times. Directions seemed misleading.

BAD EXPERIENCE

UNCERTAIN WHETHER I TRUST THE PRODUCT ANYMORE. WHEN ENTERING MULTIPLE 1099-R, THE LAST ENTERED 1099-R OVER WROTE THE PRIOR ENTRIES. THIS MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO FILE AN ACCURATE RETURN. THIS MEANS THE PRODUCT FAILS AND I CANNOT FILE A COMPLETE RETURN IN A TIMELY MANNER.

What's great about it: WAS RATHER EASY TO ENTER ALL INFORMATION
What's not so great: THE RETURN WAS REJECTED, THE APPARENT ERROR WAS INACCURATE EMPLORER NUMBER. IN CHECKING THIS WAS NOT INCORRECT.

I used to used a professional tax person. When she retired I went to another group which did not give me the same attention the previous lady did so I decided to take a chance on using TurboTax and doing them myself. I have been pleasantly surprised how easy it has been to prepared my taxes myself with the help of TurboTax.
What's great about it: Easy and TurboTax walked me thru evetything

Far Cheaper than a CPA!

I liked my CPA a whole lot! But now I realize how expense that affair was!
What's great about it: Efficient use of time to accomplish a great deal of work!
What's not so great: Need to clarify sale of investment instructions a bit more.
