While taxes are painful, Turbo Tax make them LESS painful.
What's great about it: carried over information year after year
What's not so great: It does not have a way of eliminating the IRS

2013 Turbotax Review

Another year of using Turbotax, doing one of my least favorite things in the world. However, this program makes things go well, with fewer snags, and with a friendly upbeat feeling.
We usually owe a large amount, so when I get done entering all the income, the amount of tax owed looks frightening. The rest of the process is whittling the number down to its lowest possible amount. Thanks, Turbotax, for helping us do this each year. I like using the "It's Deductable" app within.
What's great about it: Fast. Side by side viewing between 2012 and 2013. Peace of mind. Consitent over the years.
What's not so great: They do not pay my taxes for me. State e-file costs extra.

I have used Turbo Tax for about a decade now, and I have been impressed with the ease of use for the federal and state tax forms, but I have consistently had troubles filling out the Form 37. Since there are no directions for filling them out, I had difficulties placing additional income in correct categories.
What's great about it: Easy to use for the Federal and State forms
What's not so great: Had problems with a local form

As a former tax law specialist in the IRS Tax Forms and Publications division, I appreciate the difficulty of explaining tax law in plain, simple language. You've done an excellent job!
What's great about it: User-friendly; clear explanations of tax law.
What's not so great: It was not clear from the summaries that my Maryland state tax refund was deducted from my Maryland gross income.

TurboTax is reliable, trustworthy

I have been using TurboTax for at least 25 years. In that time, TurboTax has updated itself to meet changing technology and changing tax laws. It takes me little more than one hour to complete my taxes, once all the forms are collected. I appreciate the frequent double-checking and reviewing done by TurboTax - this gives me confidence that my information has been added correctly. The report at the end of the process helps me to compare this year to previous years, and also helps me to do some forecasting and advance planning. I have NEVER been audited - more indication that TurboTax has been helping me to do things correctly.
As an educated citizen of the United States of America, I believe that I ought to be able to complete my own taxes. TurboTax helps me to do that with confidence.

What's great about it: step by step questions, thoroughness
What's not so great: Paying extra money to file the state e-return. Why??? I don't USE 5 federal e-files - why not make one a state e-file?
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

tried to update and send, faild several times, finally reinstalled disk and updated and then it worked

I've used TT for over 15 years. Accurate returns, no mistakes, no audits-couldn't be easier or more thorough...though, if you have a very complicated return, get the Premium version and tap into the tax community and professional help offered. Well done Intuit!
What's great about it: Easy, Intuitive, Detailed-yes, all 3 but if you have complicated returns, you'll need the Primier version
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments
