Step by Step

Updates with new information and/or changes so that you will have the newest laws available at the time you file. I really like that fact that I have a choice whether to let Turbo Tax ask questions and lead the way or whether I choose to move along as I please. I don't know the laws so just answering questions is wonderful. I also appreciate that Turbo Tax rechecks and reviews to make sure that I have the largest refund possible and that all areas have been filled out and taken care of. It also checks for errors. I have used Turbo Tax for years and am very happy with the results. Quality program.
What's great about it: I like the fact that I am asked questions. All I have to do is answer them.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Got the help I needed!

I had a problem filing due to a glitch in the online data entry section for mortgage investment. I tried to get around it with no success, then called for help. The support person was patient, helpful, and stayed with me online until my return was successfully filed. Her help gained me an additional $300 plus on my federal and state returns, combined! I couldn't believe she stuck with it for over an hour to try every possible way to help me get this done tonight. Thanks again to Turbo Tax!
What's great about it: Easy to follow, tells you all the documents to gather
What's not so great: only one; slight glitch in online version

Turbo Tax is Turborific

We have used Turbo Tax for years and each year it gets easier with the updates that are done. The one thing I would like to see a change in is having the option to skip the deduction section when we are not itemizing. It is time consuming to have to say no to every deduction field when you are not taking deductions. Other than that it is a great product and we will continue to use it.
What's great about it: Easy to use and user friendly
What's not so great: Can't skip the deductions when you aren't itemizing.

OK - better than doing returns by hand

When you need assistance, the explanations can be very superficial, especially on the state returns.
Also, I did two state returns in addition to the federal. On the second state return, the data previously entered on the federal return would not transfer. I played around with TurboTax for a while and the data finally transferred over. I don't know what I did to finally make the data transfer.

Transparency needed

It would be nice to know where some of the figures came from and why. Especially when it loads from previous year the forms and data that is not usually used by everyone.
