Turbo Tax 2013 Deluxe seemed more difficult to use this year. Altho I was doing my taxes in April, I got a message that up-dated versions of Sched. A & D were not yet available, and that I needed to send an email requesting information when the new forms were finalized.
The program was not up-dated until I got to the review section.
Earlier versions up-dated Turbo Tax whenever I opened the program.

Checking my work was difficult because the forms for the 1099B information seemed to be in different order than when I entered it.
My over-all impression was that Turbo Tax had been changed for this year, not necessarily for the better.
What's not so great: Did not up-date program until I had finished my return and was in review stage.

Partnership treatment K1 messy

I invested in a Listed stock exchange Gas fund that apparently was structured as a partnership and I received a K 1 form. I only owned the stock for 1 year. Even after I sold it it continues to be on my return. I could not understand why turbotax kept mentioning did I receive a K-1. I finally had to go into the forms and delete the worksheet for it. Rather messy and I hope it doesn't mess up anything in my filing.
What's great about it: Straight forward return OK
What's not so great: Even small special items haunt you from year to year

Helped us through a new tax situation this year. Next year we might need to buy a fancier version.
What's great about it: Could file taxes eventhough I do not understand all of the rules I am subject to
What's not so great: I'm still uncomfortable with my lack of understanding of what I've don. I have to trust turbo tax.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Why Did I Wait So Long to Use Turbo Tax

I am so glad that I started using Turbo Tax. Since I am a procrastinator especially when it comes to filling out my taxes, Turbo Tax has been a blessing!
What's great about it: Software is user-friendly--easy to use.

Gets better every year. I have suggested this to several folks who struggle with taxes on their own or with preparers. One of the most intuitive software packages out there for anything let alone taxes. Very pleased.
What's great about it: Simplicity, natural questioning
What's not so great: minor: a bit tough to track a few numbers back to origin points ("data source" works for some, but not other numbers)

I've been using Turbo Tax for five years and it is by far the easiest and most accurate do it yourself tax program.

For example: a click in a done box should not leave you in a delete box in the next screen, but in a clear region.
If possible the 'done' of 'continue' box should be fully in the current screen.
What's great about it: directions okay
What's not so great: Alignment of curcer from screen to screen could be better

This is the third year we've used TurboTax and it's fairly self-explaining but there are a few items I had to re-hash. I almost used a tax person this year because I had so many donations but I toughed it out. It's very time-consuming to enter every item - wish there were an easier way. Otherwise, I feel TurboTax is very thorough.
What's great about it: Save hundreds of dollars for a Tax Accountant.
What's not so great: It takes too much time to enter each donation, such as shirts, forks, bowls, etc.
