I have used TurboTax for 10 years. I feel comfortable with the software, knowing that there will be step-by-step instructions, pop-up definitions, detailed explanations, and publication references and quotes along the way. There are always several ways you can answer any questions you have, including looking for answers in a communal setting or contacting an expert, if necessary. I particularly like the "Audit Risk Summary." It gives me a peaceful feeling when it's time to file. TurboTax makes it so easy to electronically file your federal and state returns and save and print copies; it they correspond with you until both returns have been accepted.
I know there are other tax prep products out there, but why change when you're happy with what you've got? Ten years of great service speaks for itself. Thank you Intuit for making a great product!

Very easy program to use

I find this a very easy program to use. Very straight forward. If you have all of your documentation organized it flows into the system very easily.
What's great about it: Very easy to input information, most all of your questions are addressed as you go thru the program
What's not so great: No cons for me

Good resource for the average person

Fast for someone starting out and doing their own taxes. Anything complicated can prove to be frustrating.
What's great about it: Love the Importing feature
What's not so great: Not really detailed enough for someone with complex finances
Pros: I bought or sold investments

our mortgage insurance paid in 2012 was not reflected in this years paperwork. this inspired us to investigate to see if we could save money on last years taxes by including the insurance and resubmitting the return. turns out the insurance was in the calculations it just didn't show up on the 2013 software... this wasted 30 min's of our time and we found it extremely frustrating.
What's great about it: I got my taxes done in one night
What's not so great: slight glitch in software wasted my time

This is the first year I have had any problems with software. When It came to printing taxes to be files by mail there wasn't any Block to select Print. Only Save to PDF, and Print Preview. even when I clicked the print icon at top right of page. its ok. I figured it out. but im sure some people had problems...

What's great about it: Easy to use and Follow. Turbo Tax makes sure your covered...
