Quite fast and quite easy, even with all the detail, because TurboTax walks you through it. Having previous year's numbers shown as you move along also helps. And the state return is made extra easy by having the Federal loaded for it.

Painless Filing Experience

I have been using Turbo Tax since the mid 80's. One day I decided to buy the software and compare it to my tax prepares return and to my surprise Turbo Tax got me the same return. Never stop using it since.
What's great about it: The GuideMe

I feel that I am not taking advantage of my deductibles and maximizing my returns. There needs to be a step to ask a user to correct the Property tax info on the State side; it can be easily missed if one doesn't select the edit button.
What's great about it: Simple and Intuitive.
What's not so great: Health insurance deductabiles are confusing. State Property tax $ is not automatically credited on the state return.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Almost Perfect

While this is my fourth year using Turbo Tax Deluxe and I plan to use it again next year, if you are in a tax situation that requires the filing of two state returns (one for your residency and one for the predominant source of the income), first you have to purchase the second state at full price; and second, having done that, you would expect that there would be well thought out integration of the two states, but there isn't. A mistake on one state never triggers a question related to the other, leaving you concerned as to whether they are both accurate or not.
What's great about it: Clear, organized and helpful
What's not so great: Does not integrate two states well.
