Once again, TurboTax made it easy to get through what used to be a laborious process quickly and simply. I feel that the price is well worth the benefits provided, and it saves me a large professional fee.
What's great about it: Easy, logical, and fast

Good, but...

Don't get me wrong, I love Turbo Tax but I don't like the price for e-filing a state return. There are several other (reputable) companies that do it for less, it would be nice if they could match their competitors prices.
What's great about it: Fast and Easy
What's not so great: The Price!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Also vague on whether or not spouse had to also sign the form. Aside from those two issues I am convinced TurboTax is the only way to go. I'll be back next year. One last question, I have used TurboTax for the previous two years, but this year I have a new computer. I had trouble transferring previous years on to this computer. Any suggestions?
What's great about it: Walked me through the process easly.
What's not so great: It was a little vague when inputting 1099-INT & R, if I should put only mine with spouse later or both on the first time

I have used TT for many years. This year's version was a bit more difficult to get used to. I did not like that I had trouble making it work on a Mac, and I know that many other Mac users experienced problems. Fix that for 2014, please. Please make it easier to find the way to simply print a state return if the filer does not want to e-file. It should not take so many steps to figure out how to do it. It seems that once the federal return is filed, if I want to just print and mail the state, I'm left to click around and around til I find a way to do it.
What's great about it: easy transfer of prior years returns
What's not so great: bugs in use with Mac--difficulty in transmitting; TT made it harder to find a way to print state return

TurboTax does a superb job of walking one through the return
What's great about it: keeps last year's info. walks one through everything
What's not so great: hard to determine that to continue filing, must click on federal then item to start with

little frustrated

Overall okay, I have used Turbotax for 6 years but this year seemed to be not as user friendly. And although I do updates every time I open turbotax it still won't let me e-file until i have installed updates, so it takes repeated attempts to e-file which is frustrating. Still cheaper than a tax guy though so I fight through it.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Terrible

I've been filing my elderly father's taxes with turbo tax for the last 4 years, usually pretty smoothly. Now, I got a message saying some forms were not available yet, to wait until I got an e-mail. I waited a couple of days and finally decided to dig deep and try to figure this out. I had to update the software, 3 different times, and even at the end when I was getting ready to file still got an error message. I was finally able to transmit, but man if my elderly dad was doing this he would NEVER be able to figure it out and get it done. LAST time I use turbotax.
What's great about it: Got my taxes done
What's not so great: ...found too many bugs, pretty stressful

Found a glitch but also an easy fix

This year I found a glitch that almost got me! The federal had a healthy return but I owed more than I felt was wright on the state. First I checked the state form for the taxes paid. Sure enough my W-2 withholding was there but the 1099R withholding was missing and I had to add them and push them onto the forms page "All's well that ends well." All the audit and mistake checks went through fine. :-)
What's great about it: I've used it for more than 20 years and it,s got better every year
What's not so great: The 1099R State taxes withheld did not get added to the state!
Pros: I bought or sold investments
