Life saver for many years

I have used Turbo Tax during many phases of life and different careers. From business owner, self employed professional, employee, real estate investor, and now retired. Different phases of personal life - Married and now single. I feel heard for all of my needs and taken care of better than with any accountant I have worked with. Thank you for insuring my independence and ability to change.

Better than last year. Easier to go back and edit information, but still not as easy as it should be. Had to repeat many steps after I edited a screen.
After cliking continue, I was taken to where I left off. This was good.

Had to use comments help section to transmit.. This never happened before and I assume will be corrected next year
What's great about it: easy, detailed, been using for years
What's not so great: the final e-filing is VERY buggy. First time with the issue

efile roundabout

I thought that I had passed all of the reviews and was ready to efile. Screen came up indicating just one more thing. Unable to get past that screen and efile. about ready to file by ail.
What's great about it: excellent overall
What's not so great: put me on a roundabout before efile was possible
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

Only tax-prep app I have used, so nothing to compare to, but TT seems pretty good. the more forms and worksheets there are, the tougher it is to use. Could you make a "middle way" between the step-by-step process and the forms-only process. It's not obvious or easy to find some of the simplifying worksheets.
What's not so great: I can't e-file because of some false error messages that are generated for some of my partnerships. Very annoying.

Ok, not as good as before

I have used Turbo Tax 12+ years and have recommended it to many people. It walks me through all the different areas for preparing my federal and state taxes in an easy conversational style. In previous versions, it would accurately transfer amounts from prior years for comparison and download data from Quicken for the categories I'd designated as tax related. This year 2013, the comparison info was missing in most categories and the transfer from Quicken did not happen. The Quicken transfer may have been a problem with Quicken. I upgraded to Quicken 2013 and it was a disaster. I plan to use Turbo Tax again next year and am hoping the Quicken problem is solved by then.
What's great about it: Easy to follow instructions
What's not so great: Does not transfer data from Quicken accurately
