had to quite and relaunch to file

Prepared my return a month or 2 early. When I tried to file it said there were more updates. Applied them and tried to file. It said there were more updates. Applied them and tried to file. It said there were more updates. Saved, quit Turbotax. Relaunched Turbotax; no more updates, efile completed successfully.
What's great about it: fairly straight forward and very thorough
What's not so great: Had to apply last minute updates - that is ok, but then it said there were more updates. And more updates.

Turbo Tax, Again

Handles fairly complicated returns with ease. Accurate. Easy to navigate.
What's great about it: Detailed
What's not so great: Updates slowly, even with fast internet
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

only ONE return online

TurboTax leads you to use the online software. I prepare my father's taxes as he is unable to do so. You CANNOT do a second return online. As a result I had to BUY the download version as well as PAYING for the online version. If I had done the download first I WOULD NOT have been double charged.
What's great about it: very good software
What's not so great: extra cost

2013 tax prep

What's great about it: Confident forms are accurate and Turbo is backing us
What's not so great: wish state tax e-file was free but that's ok

2013 Taxes

I have been using Turbo Tax for years. When I make an error, it catches the mistakes and asks me to correct it. The program also lets me know about additional money a person may be entitled to like the "Earned Income Credit."
What's great about it: Questions asked were pretty simple to answer.
What's not so great: Some questions were confusing especially when it came to Investments

1. Sometimes I was taken back to the beginning and not to where I last left off. It made me wonder (question) if I was restarting that section.
2. When you edit something, it doesn't always save ALL your previous entries.
3. When itemizing Home vs. Home Office expenses, it wasn't clear as to what percentage to enter for the home office expenses. TurboTax 2012 used 0.0829. TurboTax 2013 was not clear.

Turbo Tax - The Way to Go!

I am a retired military office plus being a retired retailer and college professor. Have used TurboTax for many years now. Have had great success with it. The easy to follow walk through step by step program has proven to be very easy to follow. Have nothing but praise for the program for over more than 15 years.
What's great about it: The walking me through the return has for many years been great.
What's not so great: Have a little trouble working with Whats It Worth (Donation of items given to charity). Wish it was better in sync.
