Getting Sloppy

Turbo Tax failed to import my estimated tax payments from last year's data, and the step by step never asked for them. Similarly some other unimported data required me to dig out last year's printed forms to enter it by hand.

Pay My Taxes

I have used the Windows version of Turbo Tax for 20 years and it has been great. Initially, I tried other tax preparation software, but Turbo Tax out performed the others so I use it every year. I use Its Deductible for itemized information and although it is time consuming it is great with Turbo Tax in the final preparation of my tax return. This is my first time with the Mac version and it was time consuming to input personal information. Next year hopefully I will not have to input the personal info but just import from the 2013 file and just fill in the numbers to complete the tax return. Keep up the good work.
What's great about it: 1st time using MacPro with taxes. Have used PC preparation before .
What's not so great: Would have liked Mac version to import Windows personal info instead of retyping it. Guess next year Mac version will

Overall good experience with troubleshooting

Overall the process went well with good explanations for the basic areas. Less clarity in uncommon needs (e.g., consulting in other states, first time rental income). A bug crashed the application when state forms were purchased/downloaded which caused anxiety! Once I followed the directions there was no assistance for retrieving the purchased state forms. A phone call to support fixed this in 20 minutes (very efficient service).
While the process was not without bumps and frustration I appreciated the quick assistance to fix the issue!
What's great about it: Swift assistance from Michael at support
What's not so great: bug crashed the application and required reinstallation

Great program that desperately needs a facelift.
What's great about it: Does exactly what I want.
What's not so great: User infterface needs a rewrite. It is clunkly going from form to form with drop down menu.

Shocked that I had to pay Federal and State taxes.

This was 1st time I've used Turbo Tax software so I was a little unnerved. Once I got into the program, the process of entering my info got easier. It's been years since I had to pay taxes on my Federal and State returns that I was flabbergasted. I realized I didn't have the deductions I'd always counted on over the years. All in all, I accept the taxes I need to pay and will do so. Thank you everyone.
What's great about it: Appreciated the help from the Turbo Tax employees.
What's not so great: Not enough categories for non-cash donation listings

Great Product

This product saves me time and money. I've been using it for 6 years and wouldn't do taxes any other way. The prompts for each category makes sure I don't overlook any items income or exemptions. Cuts my time to do taxes by 2/3rds.
What's great about it: Pulling in previous years category to use as a guide.
What's not so great: None
