This is quick and easy for me.

I really enjoy using Turbo Tax, this is my second year. I will definitely consider it again.
What's great about it: Love doing it at home! Appreciate the prompts and explanations
What's not so great: Feel that the "price" of the state return is a hidden cost, and it should be on the packaging.

Turbo Tax for Year 2013
on April 11, 2014

Good product. Help function needs more improving.
What's great about it: Usual easy of use that I come to expect
What's not so great: Help is still confusing. When I'm on a screen I need to easily ask comprehensive questions abou that page!
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

In filing my state return, had I followed TT without question, I would have lost $1200!!! You had better update your program regarding tax laws and the NYSTRS pensions.
What's great about it: Good knowledge about Federal return
What's not so great: poor knowledge regarding state return
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

TurboxTax 2013 Revisited
on April 11, 2014
Posted by: Earlprice47
As usual, doing my taxes on TurboTax was a breeze once I got started. Of course, collecting the documents was the most arduous part of filing. I saved my tax data as usual on my external hard drive, but this year I had an Apple MacBook Air and I could not see the data anywhere on the hard drive, so I requested a transcript from the iRS and otherwise began my return. I saved -- but once the transcript arrived and I restarted the return, the information I had entered was nowhere to be found -- so I started over.
I learned to always print a hard copy. I learned to save early and often. I learned that I will continue to use TurboTax. . .
What's great about it: I can do this myself, quickly, simply and accurately.
What's not so great: I saved my beginning info on my hard drive, but Turbo Tax could not find it.

Disappointing

As a financial professional I have been a Turbo Tax User for over 15 years for personal retirns. Seems to have changed.
1. When asking to import last years data, the prompt was "Transfer Last Years return." This doesn't clarify what is transferred. Was it just just data needed for new return or was it the whole return? When I checked YES, values from last year were displayed. Not just personal data. I backed out and said Not transfer. Then I had to reenter much that could have been transferred.
2. The routine prompts to enter data seem to have changed and were sometimes not clear.
3.After return was completed is when it checked for updates. This is illogical and basically wrong. This used to be at the initial install.
4.The review after the update displayed some numbers on a NY tax worksheet. with an unclear description of what was wrong. It had to do with estimated 2014 withholding based on 2013 withholding, not total tax due.
5. This was not consistent with the vouchers for estimated tax payments for 2014.Then when I was ready to E-File it checked the return again, forcing me to guess what it wanted.
What's great about it: E-File
What's not so great: Several

Been using tbtax for many years and its always been easy to use and I love the way it extracts required info from previous years data. Truly a time saver and it allows me to make changes (what ifs kind of things) and see consequences or results without a lot of paper generation.
Just keep up the good work....
Couple of comments from this years experience....I noticed some changes in the prompting wrt 1099 input from 401k/403b monies being received....
the prompts weren't very informative wrt the answers provided, consequently my selection was somewhat of an educated guess....
I think more information to guide my answer would have helped.
Also, I love the e-filing simplicity but a comment this year kind of stumped me: specifically, living in florida, having efiled before successfully. As I was going thru the e-file screens, I rec'e a prompt saying -florida returns cannot be efiled? I imagine that refers to state taxes somehow, but?? it wasn't clear since I went ahead and e-filed my federal.. Fl doesNOt have an income tax per say so that needs to be clarified somehow. Other than that, (and owing taxes) it makes doing your taxes somewhat less of a chore.
What's great about it: Still beats the dickens out of wading thru reams of useless taxcode
What's not so great: need better explanations or side notes wrt new functionality over previous years turbotaxx prompts,

2013 Turbo Tax Deluxe
on April 11, 2014
Posted by: Mary1082
Turbo Tax Deluxe for 2013 was excellent and made doing tax return so easy and error proof.
My only problem was finding instructions on how to import from It's Deductible...I went into the "help" community but they were not clear cut and I saw many were having this problem and rated the answers as not very good. It would be better if Turbo Tax had "instructions" right in their software. But I finally figured it out and using It's Deductible and being able to import it into Turbo Tax is a great tool.
What's great about it: excellent all around
What's not so great: difficult instructions on importing It's Deductible
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
