2014 TurboTax

I had several problems this year in that It wasn't easy to get my state return without paying the big additional price. I was frequently frustrated that I didn't have easy access to the federal and state published directions. Earlier years these publications have been easy to access through Turbo Tax. Having filed our taxes without Turbo Tax, I sometimes worry that I can't see when information is posted to multiple forms. And yes I do go through the forms before and after they are printed to verify some of this information.
What's great about it: It is good at leading you through all the steps.
What's not so great: Help screens not so much

I have used turbo tax for more than 12 years. easy to use and does a good job of guiding users through the return. I plan to continue using this product for the foreseeable future. Would recommend to others. good value for the cost of the program.
What's great about it: easy to use prompts that guide user through completion of tax return
What's not so great: font size on just a couple of the popup screens are a bit small.
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

2014 Taxes

Always opens at beginning, not where I stopped
File names at opening are truncated from actual, making it hard to determine which to open
Updates never restart TurboTax
some questions need to be answered repeatedly when using the "back" button
Have used Tubotax since it first worked on a PC (1985?)
What's great about it: Does a good job
What's not so great: Doesn't remember where I was
Pros: I bought or sold investments

I've used Turbo Tax Deluxe for quite a few years and have always been pleased with the ease of doing the dreaded tax return each year.
What's great about it: Easy to follow and complete tax return
What's not so great: None
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

I love that TurboTax walks me through every area of taxable income and deductions step by step and allows me to quickly understand whether a particular area affects my situation or not. This thoroughness and accuracy is the key ingredient that has brought me back to TurboTax year after year for over 10 years.
The supporting systems that allow for indepth research on a particular tax area are very helpful and easy to access.
Adding the Flag feature was extremely helpful in allowing me to continuing working on my return while I researched answers to more difficult tax issues.
What's great about it: Walks me through step by step
What's not so great: Had a difficult time getting to ItsDeductible

Great Software

I have used TurboTax for many years and will continue to use unless TurboTax prices their software out of my price range.
What's great about it: Covers every aspect of my IRS forms required
What's not so great: Some of the explanations are not real clear

I have used Turbo Tax since it came out years ago. I can't say enough about how great the product is! I will continue to use it until I die because nothing else out there compares to it.
