Sometimes the forms from the government are not easy to understand. Not sure how to solve that without a live person to talk with.
What's great about it: Simple way to send in tax return

Turbo FAS tax

Been a happy convert to TurboTax for years now, having jumped from their competitor. The Intuit folks continue to look for streamlining and other beneficial Human Interface opportunities with each annual release. My Sis the tax accountant, no longer begrudges me my TT preference.
What's great about it: Leave it to Intuit to become even more intuitive
What's not so great: e-Filing should present more back end efficiency..so why then, are these fees increasing so much?!

Solid Tax Preparation

Any complaints I have are more or less with the tax codes not the software itself. Taxes can be overwhelming for the uninitiated but Turbo Tax does a fair amount of hand-holding and if you are somewhat experienced it allows you to zip along without being prompted.
I'm still using XP so the speed of loading may have a lot to do with that but I must have waited about five (5) minutes before it was ready to go and take on my taxes. Although I am indeed not displeased with the product.
What's great about it: Helpful and friendly interface.
What's not so great: Slow.

Trouble to begin, but excellent CS support

While filing the return error popped up to update the software when there is none. CS support stayed on the phone for 2 hours and get this resolved. Very patient and very supportive.

Taxes for Dummies

Taxes used to be a dreaded time of year. With Turbo Tax it simplifies the task so even a dummy can do taxes. No CPA or accounting or math degree needed, just fill in the blanks. I really like the import of W2's so I don't have to fill in all the blanks which can lead to human error sometimes. Not that I make a lot off mistakes but I would consider myself a tax dummy so I'm glad someone that isn't a dummy can figure everything out for me. I also like that this review has spell check in it. Even takes the chance of 'human error' out of writing this review. Great job to all that help make my otherwise hectic life much easier!

I really like the way that Turbo Tax makes it easy to enter the data on different screens and automatically recalculates my payment or refund.
One new enhancement I would like to see is a line by line comparison to my previous years return and maybe highlight the differences as I do this manually to make sure my new return is consistent with my previous year.
Also, to help me with tax planning for the next year as already know of changes in my dependents and reduced education and other deduction.
What's great about it: The ease of use and simple way of collecting the info.
What's not so great: After saving and returning takes you back to the start everytime you login.
