Straightforward and easy to use

I've used Turbo Tax off and on for a few years and I really appreciate the easy to follow instructions and easy to understand descriptions. The program takes what for me is a very complicated and overwhelming task and simplifies it for me.
What's great about it: Step by step process
What's not so great: sometimes gets a bit repetitive

Been doing my own taxes with TurboTax for years. Never been disappointed or frustrated. Consistent high quality plus imports last year's data to give you a running start.
What's great about it: Anyone can do this

Easy Breezy

I use it for my kids taxes that are real simple and for mine that are much more complicated. It does both very well. On the easy ones where I want to navigate on my own, I picked where I wanted to go and it still seems to want to guide. Other than that was real easy. eFile work really well. TT needed an update b4 I could file and it stopped, told me to download, did it, restarted and took me almost right back to the hit enter to eFile. Pretty slick. Integration with ItsDeductible has been a great tool and it has been getting better to use every year.
What's great about it: easy to use and skip stuff you don't need for simple returns but has everything you need if you need complex stuff
What's not so great: sometimes navigating not straight forward; why did it start here?
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Turbo tax I have used for several years. It seems to know the questions to ask and I've gotten to the point where I know what information to gather every year. Just need to stay on top of tax changes
What's great about it: answered questions well and was easily understood
What's not so great: noon

As my life progresses, so do the complexity of my taxes. Every year I have used this product, I have felt secure in the knowledge that it is very comprehensive. I am comfortable filing, knowing nothing was left off and that my refunds is maximized. All this and it seems to get more user friendly each year.
What's great about it: thorough
What's not so great: none
Pros: I moved

I'm glad Turbo Tax asked a bunch of questions at the end because I had not entered my ira contributions, so after going through and reviewing everything, my refund increased 50%!!! Woohoo! Thanks turbo tax! :)
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I moved

Disappointed

The first time through, I was told that I couldn't e-file yet because of an impending update to the Schedule K-1 forms and that I would receive an email once that has been resolved and i can go ahead and submit. Well, 2 months later and no email, so I go in and am told the same thing, so I manually check for updates, and there are updates available. I download and install updates and go through ok now until it tries to transmit; at this point, it says there are more new updates, and how to find them (should be automatic, or at least a 'update now?' prompt.)
After updating again, the same thing happens several times in a row where it gets to the transmit step and says I need more updates. After a few times, including multiple restarts of TurboTax, I decide to look at the 'release notes' following the update so I can see if this is the same update over and over or if it is something different. Well maybe that was the key, because after that, it all went through fine.
Annoying, but not a brick-wall.
However, something that could be a brick-wall for some is when checking for errors. Some of the error messages are descriptive enough to tell you what to enter, but others just give a line number on some form with no context or explanation. I tried looking some of these up in the online help, and it was obvious that many others had the same problems, but none of their questions were answered. The best I could do was to google for the forms and then look to se what the line was supposed to be. In my cases, this made it obvious, but what if these lines depend on other entries on that same form? There should at least be a way to view those forms within TurboTax, preferably from a link within the error message itself.
In general, it doesn't seem that TurboTax is evolving very quickly and may actually be starting to de-volve. Next year I will have to do a fresh comparison to the competition before doing my taxes.
What's great about it: Remembers what you type in
What's not so great: Prompts for line entries with no context, refused to e-file
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
