THANK YOU TURBO TAX

ONCE AGAIN USED TURBO TAX. THIS WILL BE 10 OR 11TH YEAR. MOST EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTHLY WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A COUPLE QUESTIONS THAT CAME UP WHICH I WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND A CLEAR ANSWER TO. FATHER HAD A CPA LOOK AT MY TAX RETURN DRAFT AND HE SAID EVERYTHING WAS GOOD, I.E. HE DID NOT FIND US ANY MORE REFUND THAN TURBO TAX SOFTWARE. WILL VERY LIKELY USE IT (TT) AGAIN NEXT YEAR. WOULD RECOMMEND TO OTHERS.
What's great about it: SHORT AND SWEET
What's not so great: NOT CLEAR ANSWERS TO A COUPLE QUESTIONS
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion), I bought or sold investments

Frustrated with program glitch!

Mostly worked well during the Easy Step process. I liked the fact that you now don't have to go through many irrelevant questions but rather can hone in on the items that are specific to my own return. .
The bad experience came with trying to e-file, which in previous years went fine. This year I tried 4 times to e-file and it kept giving me the message that "Your Transmission Didn't Go Through". The message said I needed to update TT but I did so 4 times and e-filing kept failing. I had to call in to your support staff to find out that TT needed to be re-started after each update to make it work properly, THIS SHOULD BE EXPLICITLY STATED IN THE UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS... which it is not!! Very frustrating and a waste of time.
However, the customer support person was very friendly and immediately helpful, walking me through the troubleshooting.
What's great about it: Easy Step method went very smoothly
What's not so great: Trouble with e-filing

Keeps getting better

I have been using Turbo Tax for many years now. I had tried all others out there, but was very discouraged on friendlinss of them. Once I have all my info and forms arranged to file it's a snap. I like the way Turb Tax walks me through the filling.
What's great about it: Easy to use great helpful info and explinations
What's not so great: State e-filling is not free

Having to pay to E file state form, not getting free protection like the old turboTax

More options under topic list, for instants A topic for each and every entry in the form so you can go back and review what you typed in even if you're in a state form jumping back to a federal form.

Refund is Great

It would be so much easier if under Contributions, that it was easy like the cash contributions as compared to the item contributions: to have to list each date, each item, each amount is crazy? Please try to simplify this portion of Turbo Tax if you can.
What's great about it: Seemed to be easier this year!
What's not so great: To list every item donated, on every date, for every dollar is crazy!
