Minimizes the dread

I always dread tax time but TurboTax makes it tolerable. You make it simple and much less stressful.
What's great about it: Steps you through so nothing is missed
What's not so great: None I can think of.

I had several questions because this was the first year I used Turbo Tax. All my questions were answered to my satisfaction. I'm sure it will go much smoother next year when I file, having gone thru it this year. I'll know more what to expect. Thanks

For the past 5 years my husband and I have paid to have a professional prepare our taxes. This year I did my taxes and the software was so thorough I found a mistake that the professionals made. My husband is disabled and I learned that his disability pension is not taxable. We have been paying state taxes on his pension for the last 5 years. We are taking our past returns back to the professionals that prepared them on Monday so they can get us the overpayments we've been making for the last 5 years. Thank you TurboTax!

Startling Message

At the end of the entries I received a startling message that said that tax forms were not yet available and I could sign up to receive a message from TurboTax when they were. Since it was April 12 when I go the message it made me think that I could not use the software to file. I finally found an "update" button to download the forms. I think there should be a message to say to go to the button to update the forms instead of making the user uneasy and hunt around for the solution. Other than this, i found the program well designed and easy to use. I look forward to using it again next year when much of the info will already be in the program.
What's great about it: Questions asked led easily through the return
What's not so great: Like to be able to click on totals to see components of total

Puzzled by Charge

Great overall. Except at the end I was asked tro deduct from my refund or pay by credit card for a fee releated to a refund I am not receiving. Don't know why.
What's great about it: great prompts
What's not so great: I was forced to pay a credit card fee for a refund I am not receiving

Too many glitches

I bought Turbo Tax so I that don't have to be an accountant to do my taxes. Unfortunately, between the glitches and the program freezing and locking up my computer, it didn't save any time or money. Now, instead of having to be an accountant to do my taxes I have to be a programmer. Next year I will go back to my tax accountant and save myself a ton of grief. Total waste of $$$$.
What's great about it: Did the math so I don't have to
What's not so great: Too many glitches and error messages.

If I had not checked all pages I would have missed the Credit and not had the $480 deduction. Please be sure to fix this next year.
It automatically put in Estimated Taxes for next year. Please make this a choice instead of making me find the form and changing it.
What's not so great: Married Couple Credit did not caculate. Did not like that it automatically put in Estimated Taxes.
