2013 Was easy to navigate

Who said you don't have to have tax knowledge?

Never done a tax return in my life. Tried to do Mom's taxes to save money and it has been a 3-4 day nightmare. E-filed with incorrect info and refund due, realized the mistake and tried to amend. I don't know all the terminology that you have to know to do taxes. (RMD, General vs. simple tax calculation); therefore, it was a big mistake to try to do these taxes rather than go to my CPA who would have charged a few dollars more than Turbo-Tax.
What's great about it: should be easy to fill in and go
What's not so great: not so easy when all info not on 1099R

TT Deluxe -- No State Tax

I've used TT Deluxe for many years. This is the first time ever that I've been asked to pay for State Taxes -- and pay a LOT. Every year you seem to deliver less. Sad.
So I spent a half hour and did State the old fashioned way. When I finished with my federal and said no to state it still asked it I wanted to print both federal and state forms. That sort of mistake on something simple makes me fear how well it does the complicated stuff.

Couldn't e-file.

I used to be a TaxCut user and switched a couple of years ago. I like the screen by screen approach, very user friendly. This year I couldn't get past the prior year taxable social security error check. Your program said the amount should not be greater than zero. I double checked last years return and searched the "help" screen for similar situations. The only solution was to file a paper copy. I had already paid the fee to e-file the state return.
