I liked the over-all feel of the interface and did not miss the talkative videos of by-gone years. it was easy to get information for certain subjects if i needed.
What's great about it: Easy
What's not so great: Not too easy to naviagate.

i have used Turbo Tax for my last 8 tax returns and it is so easy my wife could even do it ( wait honey don't hit me with that its an antique ) as In was saying my wife could do this much better and quicker than I ever could.

What's great about it: easy to use
What's not so great: hard to find info for filing a K1
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)

It would help to state that when printing returns to mail, that it uses the Adobe pdf. Only options it gives are view a copy and print preview, which takes you to the pdf format. One must print from within the pdf viewer -- it is not a separate button.
What's great about it: Comprehensive
What's not so great: Printing somewhat confusing

Still works well, but getting more expensive

The automatic links to my brokerage to download 1099's was fantastic since we are all automated in my household. Unfortunately the grouping of brokerage accounts is complex and it was hard from the info given to unravel which was which account.
The format was very convenient - it was easy to migrate again from last year which speeds things up. Doing taxes was as painless as possible.
The state filing fees went up and its getting more expensive to handle. Nevertheless, I don't need to hire an accountant and I am very grateful. I feel prepared for next year as well.
What's great about it: Easier to use this year than ever
What's not so great: More expensive
Pros: I bought or sold investments

A Bit Disappointing

I have been using Turbo Tax for 11 years. This, as well as last year some of the previous years info in regards to deductions did not carry over. I did not realize it till this years return, and discovered I overpaid taxes last year by about $200.00. Overall it's easy to use, but that being said - it is also easy to miss some things.
What's great about it: Pretty Automated
What's not so great: Tends not to bring forward all data from previous year

A bit of work the first time

I've used an accountant for several years but after receiving a bill last year that was higher than my return, I figured I would give it a try doing it myself.
It was a bit of work to get it set up the first time but I can tell that it will be much, much easier in future years. So unless I get raked over the coal by the IRS (which never happened to me with my accountant) I will definitely be back next year!
What's great about it: Costs a whole lot less than what my accountant charges
What's not so great: Takes a bit of time
Pros: My job status changed this year (switched jobs, lost a job, got a raise or promotion)
