Still Good After All of These Years

It's pretty intuitive, but I still don't like doing my taxes.

Much Better!

I paid less than half as much tax this year as last when I used a CPA, I believe because I was at home with all my notes and was asked so many questions. My CPA just took the notes I had and asked no other questions. He got into a bad rut and I became displeased.
I felt certain that TurboTax provided much more thorough results than my CPA and saved me money doing it! I took my time and made sure that everything available to me was entered completely. I will stay with TurboTax.

What's great about it: I loved being asked a variety of questions to make me research.
What's not so great: None. I can review and modify it as many times as I need.

Unusual Year/Superior Tax Software

Have used TurboTax for several years and really appreciate it. I recommend it to many friends. I understand the tax rules, but the software makes the process much easier.
What's great about it: Handled unique transactions with ease
What's not so great: Changes after return review were a bit confusing
Pros: I bought or sold investments

The definition of "dependents" needs to be further clarified for persons that can claim dependents. For example, the $3900 threshold needs to normalized based on economic regions that exist even within states. For example, the $3900 threshold may be applicable for Laredo, Texas, but not Palo Alto, California since income strata for each area is different.
What's great about it: Calculations were easy
What's not so great: The definition of "dependents" needs to be clarified for use by persons claiming dependents.

Better than an accountant

I found Turbo Tax the easiest way for me to do our taxes. I have been using Turbo Tax for the last five years. Before using Turbo Tax I paid an accountant to do my taxes and was audited three years in a row. Since using Turbo Tax I have not been audited.
